its unfortunate that the market for comics must be such that fans for 20+ years don't take priority over the piles of money that people like that make for them. It probably is the reality, and as a business Marvel probably is smart for making that decision, but it sort of confirms all the stuff I've thought about why comics suck: they are written for the broadest and basest appeal with no intention of being meaningful "months and years" in the future...
Hell, the idea that fans wont stay with a character is a self-fulfilling prophecy... Maybe a broader acceptance of comics in the public will get the creators to care about long-term brand loyalty, but that attitude seems so toxic. I wouldn't let that author within 50 feet of a Spider-Man book.

Now you know why he's hated around these parts. There were some posters like jakethebank(not a shot at you jake) who tried to defend him by saying that if fans tried to turn their formpsring accounts into battleboards, they'd be annoyed too, but Brevoort's comments go beyond mere annoyance at power level related questions.
