I'm not quite understanding the bitching going on. (Mostly Philophile's bitching but whatever)

Ok, so Hulk lifts the hammer while struggling a bit. K, good, dandy. Then he says "HULK AM WORTHIE!1!" And somehow, this gets translated as "oh, he must've overpowered the enchantment."

Hulk straight up says he's worthy. With lifting the hammer only for dramatic effect. That's really not hard to understand. Trying to pick it apart is ridiculous.

Well we all know the Hulk's word (particularly the dumbest Hulk ever) is his bond. "Hulk is the strongest one there is!". Glad thats being acknowledged 🙂

Seriosly though while we all know its going to be overturned somehow in a month (or a couple of weeks) I have to agree with Phil in that it did look like Hulk was overcoming the enchantment though strength. At least a lot more than I was expecting. Maybe not as epic a struggle as you might expect but still.

Thus we have 2 options:

a). Hulk is worthy, in which case the hammer wouldn't have resisted him at all. As worthy Thor lifted it effortlessly.
b). Hulk was not worthy, in which case the hammer's enchantment was still in place, in which case Hulk had to physically struggle, which he did, in order to break the enhancement, which he also did.

What i find kind of bizarre is that some Thor fans are now arguing there is a third option:

c) If you aren't worthy but you are a pretty decent guy (lets call this being semi-worthy) the hammer will resist you but if you are also pretty strong you can actually lift it. i.e. If you are say Class 70, go to Church, hold down a steady job etc you can wield Mjolnir.

I wouldn't have thought that would be much more desirable than Hulk just flat out lifting the hammer.

At any rate while i would love to see Hulk overpower the enchantment with sheer brute strength i'm 95% sure there is a catch that means the enchantment is not working as it should that we will all find out about pretty soon. So commiserations to Thor fans for now but its probably all going to be fine in the end.

You've had 2 mods post to stop this debate. Maybe you're a bit slow on the uptake, but that means stop.

I just got my post edited because I can't follow simple instructions. dur

Well thats probably the biggest flaw with this place - you have one single, enormous thread for both "Character Ownage" and "What happened this week in every single comic". The latter of which regularly generates the most interest and discussion from most posters while the former generates a lot of animosity and sniping.

The rest of the (pretty heavily moderated) forum seems to be exclusively devoted to discussing specific battles/scenarios rather than a freeform discussion of the battle related aspects of the latest issue of Superman or whatever. Pretty much every other board does it differently to better effect IMO. Anyway, as you please.

how much wolverine ownage is there really to go around?

Ohn's multidimensionality. Demonstrated.

That Wolverine vs DD fight is probably the best written fight ever in comics.

Wolves attacks like an unskilled animal and DD isn't impressed.

I don't believe Hulk is actually worthy, no. If Waid writes him to be, then I won't be able to do much but swallow and catalog that evidence despite the inconsistency it would create.

I'm not saying that the enchantment is bugged. What I did say was that the enchantment is probably broken, or out of whack someway for this particular arc. I'm not passing off my hypothesis as conclusive evidence, only a possible theory, so I don't see what was particularly rabid or fanboyish of what I said.

I'd appreciate it if you didn't misconstrue or put words in my mouth.

Well its Thursday today.I found this.

http://ifanboy.com/articles/interview-walt-simonson-mark-waid-on-indestructible-hulk/

iF: The teaser image we saw last week features the Hulk trying to lift Mjolnir and some threatening folks behind him. With the Hulk now working for SHIELD, how does he find himself in Thor territory? Will we see Thor as a guest star in this arc?

MW: Why on Earth would you have the amazing Walt Simonson aboard and NOT ask him to draw Thor? The teasing question is–which Thor will we be seeing? Banner and his team of assistants build a portal to Jotunheim, land of the Frost Giants, in order to obtain a rare metal there–but in doing so, they may have accomplished something totally unforeseen!

This would imply something. But who knows? Its better to wait to find out what's really going on.

This is pure gold 😂

Captain America owning Wolverine 😈

Psylocke owning Wolverine 😈

Wolverine+My little Pony=

Somewhere, Srank and Stiltman are arduously preparing for attacking, kidnapping, torturing and making a snuff film out of you Igniz.

I'm a huge Cap fan but there is a slight context towards Cap having the major advantage against Logan in that fight. In narration IIRC it was stated Logans heart was not in that fight.

This is the character ownage thread, not the name the slight context thread.
