The scan shows them on the outside away from the cloud itself. So they were not actually inside it.Plus it is the Nullifier gun which get portrayed differently, it has to be whatever is in the energy itself. To get Nullified.
You say Hulk pants excuse. I say not inside the blast excuse.
In this case only you require an excuse. I can just point at the comic instead. The scans clearly show them standing basically at ground zero with the Mindless one already pulling the trigger, we even see the first "spark" of the explosion as they rush towards him, the very next pannel shows the huge mushroom cloud that is seen from miles away. So unless they magically teleported away and then teleported back there's no other way to look at it. Clothes do things like that all the time in comics, doesn't change what's clearly shown on-panel.

Anyone have scans of the Spider-man Infinite comic?Spider-man took down Iron man pretty hard (although there does seem to be more to the story than we know so far).
Always wanted to post this. "Of thee I sing", one of the greatest Superman stories I've ever read and is really a undersold gem. What happens when Superman can't save someone?

oh riiight, looked familiar. he welded a dog to a man's face so definitely cooler 👆 (that was him, right?)
He was in Hitman's solo series, though. 👆
