Its still kid Nova but Nova has had some impressive fts as of late.

Lol, that comic almost literally spelled it out for questions like that. No offense directed at you.
Guess this shows the dangers of relying only on respect scans and the paltry few Galan posts here (for copyright reasons, of course).
Namor is there because whilst he is the King of Atlantis (and thus, politically speaking, one of the powerhouses), he is also willing to do what others won't.
Beast/Reed/T'Challa/Bruce/Tony, none of them had the stones/will to do it. They were all wishy-washy about it. Strange was in a huffy mood.
Namor stepped up to the plate and took one for the team.

👆 its part of Original Sin, the secret of what happened can now be revealed! Just in time as GotG is at a cinema near you!!

The group isn't about getting the smartest people together, it's about getting the greatest powers together to solve problems. Otherwise BB and DS wouldn't be there. Beast is there because he's a good asset. Bruce is there because not only is he smart, but he's a "worldbreaker". And Cap was originally there (in the New Avengers), but he never fit in with the underhandedness/doing what you must of it all.
And say what you will about Hickman (coughcough 😉), but his Namor is pretty fantastic.

Yeah, Maximus' whole talk to Black Swan about kings kind of showed that just the smart guys or heroes wouldn't be able to solve the problem. Ultimately even when it came down to billions die or two entire universes, only Namor, Strange and maybe Black Bolt were able to step up.
But at the same time it was a great way to show the fact that most of these people are heroes no matter what Cap yells at them.
You know would have been good? Star-Lord. The whole stuff with The Fallen One shows that he'd be able to make those kinds of decisions.

I noticed that as well. To be honest, for a minute I wondered if it was intentional to slightly obscure his helmet and uniform that way.

I always wonder, since Reed and Namor are on the same team, does Reed ever confronts Namor about all the little liaisons his **** of a wife had/have with him?Or is that something that's magically forgotten?
Reed always struck my as a guy that would be so obsessed with his work, research, mission etc that he barely gives a phuck about interpersonal relationships. "Sheldon Cooper-esque" if you will. His mind is so far above everyone else's that jealousy would seem beneath him in some way. Just my take though.

He's thrown down with Namor over Sue a few times.
Generally it's accepted that Namor and Sue only flirt, and that Reed is confident in their relationship.
He's absorbed in his work, but when the Reed council wanted him full time he chose to stay with his family.
