Energy is energy. A Joule is a Joule is a Joule.
It's like saying your phone was charged by coal generated electricity rather than nuclear.
Sure, the nuclear station is a FAR FAR more powerful source, all things being equal - but your phone isn't suddenly more powerful. There's nothing inherently more powerful about the electricity that comes from it.

Sounds like an amp to me. [/B]

Lex threw him in the pits to recharge himself.
Not to get amped.

You know, you should actually read the comic where Superman got the power.http://www.turboimagehost.com/p/23868839/Justice_League_2011-_043-022.jpg.html

WW can't spell 'strait'. 👇
I think it's a pretty straight forward amp. By definition the most powerful solar energy in existence is more potent than regular solar energy.

So energy is energy right? Red solar energy and Blue solar energy should have the same affect on Superman as Yellow solar energy. Joules are joules, lol.

Except red solar rads don't weaken Superman (you might think they do). They specifically block him from accessing his powers.

Recharged means that something becomes charged again, after being discharged:
Charged --> Discharged --> Recharged
Or, in terms of energy content:
Supercharged > Charged = Recharged > Discharged.

Right...

Even in your scan Superman didn't say it made him more powerful.
It gave him clarity, which is the corruption of his body and mind.

No sort of "amp" was mentioned. We were literally TOLD what the pits did to Superman: they "recharged" him.As you say: it's stated right there in the comic. srsly
But It is early, so I'm more than willing to wait and see if they elaborate more on how his powers are affecting him. 🙂

That's kind of my point. Your energy is energy statement goes out the window when Superman (or any comic character) is concerned.
If different types of solar energy affect Superman differently, why's it so hard to see that the most POWERFUL solar energy in EXISTENCE might actually amp Superman, and not just turn him into a douchebag.

Let's see. I mean, we ALL laugh at Golgo when he creates threads with characters who have appeared once/for short periods of time, with no real feats.
Originally posted by One-PunchThere is no need for me to prove a negative either. Until the comics explicitly state that Superman was amped by the pits, I'm going to continue assuming that DC is using the textbook definition of "recharged":
Being recharged and being amped aren't mutually exclusive, and it was never stated he wasn't amped either.
recharge
verb: re.charge / re-charj /
-to refill (a battery)
-to regain your energy and strength
-to charge again; especially: to restore anew the active materials in (a storage battery)
There's no reason to think otherwise at this point. 👆
