Black = normal.

Galan, doing his bit for race relations.

Turning black still turned Superman into a borderline psychopath... His normal strength was just restored, is all. 👆

Would you say it triggered an increased level of criminality in Superman, the epitome of America?

He also started to like KFC and watermelons biscuits

I can't help but note how he, the father figure to Jimmy, abandons him early on in the storyline.

😂

I think your both right. They made it a point to 1. Mention that it was the most powerful solar energy source. 2. Change his entire look. 3. Lex mentioned it had changed him. 4. Superman himself claimed it gave him clarity. Which in this case is bad right? Made him evil.

But..1. It said recharged, not necessarilly made more powerful. 2. Someone made a pretty good point about a nuclear reactor and cellphone source of power does not equal the being holding the power.

Prob gonna have to wait and see.

There is no need for me to prove a negative either. Until the comics explicitly state that Superman was amped by the pits, I'm going to continue assuming that DC is using the textbook definition of "recharged":

recharge
verb: re.charge / re-charj /

-to refill (a battery)
-to regain your energy and strength
-to charge again; especially: to restore anew the active materials in (a storage battery)

There's no reason to think otherwise at this point. 👆

Your dictionary breakdown is incomplete.

Yes, Superman was recharged by solar energy described as the...

MOST
adjective, superl. of much or many with more as compare.
- in the greatest quantity, amount, measure, degree, or number.
- in the majority of instances: Most operations are successful.
- greatest, as in size or extent.

POWERFUL
adjective
- having or exerting great power or force.
- potent; efficacious: a powerful drug.

IN
preposition
- used to indicate inclusion within or occurrence during a period or limit of time.
- used to indicate limitation or qualification, as of situation, condition, relation, manner, action, etc.

EXISTENCE
noun
- the state or fact of existing; being.
- continuance in being or life; life: a struggle for existence.
- all that exists : Existence shows a universal order.

This is reason enough to think otherwise. But like I said, I'll wait and see.

Yes, and that energy source was stated to have "recharged" him--that is the context/word you are ignoring entirely. "Recharged" =/= "amped"... It's just not.

A recharge is a recharge, no matter the source. DarkSaint's analogy as it pertains to this discussion was spot-on.

In the beginning it was mentioned as recharged but let's all be real here, neither Lex or Superman knew what they were talking about during that time because if so, Superman wouldn't be this evil incarnation he is now who almost killed Lex. With that said, Superman confirmed later on that the fire pits was an infinite power source that his cell absorbed. So anything said before Superman was thrown in the pits is useless.

Cool, because Superman literally stated that the pits "recharged" him in the very same sentence that he mentioned them being the most powerful solar energy source in existence:

IOW, what was said earlier = what was said later. Superman's powers were "recharged" by the pits, according to multiple comics. 🙂

I have never said "recharging" is the same as "amping." You're the one assuming they're mutually exclusive, and hence trying to cater a false dichotomy here.

I said Superman currently has the most powerful form of solar energy in existence coursing through his body.

This was what I asked myself when reading the scenes:

1. What kind of solar energy does Superman currently have in his body?
A) Regular yellow solar energy or...
B) Apokolips solar energy <-------this one

2. What's the difference between the two solar energies?
Answer: Akololiptian solar energy is the most powerful type of solar energy in existence, and yellow solar energy isn't

3. Is it possible that different types of Solar energy affect Superman's power?
Answer: Absolutely. Different types of solar energy have different affects on Superman, hence Dark's battery analogy doesn't apply. Superman isn't a cell phone battery. This is a classic false analogy fallacy, lol.

I'm just putting two-and-two together. But according to you there's absolutely no way having the most powerful solar energy in existing coursing through Superman would amp him?

Right now nothing indicates that he became more powerful, his wording is pretty clear, he is recharged, so at 100% and he is kind of corrupted, so he doesn't holds back as much as usual (he still didn't kill Lex). Is it possible that it amped him? Yes. Do I see it right now, at this point? No, I see a less holding back Supes, similar to a classic red Knite Supes, mentally.

Reported all of you delinquents for debating in Ownage thread. Dorksaint got a double report for being himself.

Until an amp is mentioned on-panel, then it's just an assumption of yours.

As of now, all we know is that "the most powerful solar energy in existence" just "recharged" Superman's powers(and made him very temperamental.) The word "recharged" has been used multiple times now, so why would I assume the pits did anything other than what has been specified? I see no reason to try and generate an amp out of thin air.

If we ever have a legitimate reason to assume he's amped, I'll agree with you. Until then, it's a stretch. Imo. 🙂

Well, all I'm saying is having the "most powerful solar energy in existence" coursing through your body implies some sort of amp. Otherwise, why would the author waste panel space emphasizing it?

If there's a future statement saying it doesn't amp him in any way, then I'll be more than happy to concede.
