It's Scot. One "t".

He didn't post it in a vain hope that you'd leave your mom's basement for a whole fifteen minutes to get yourself the comic.

😂

The comic is alright. Didn't put too much money into Starlin writings. What's the issue number?

It's just called Thanos - The Infinity Finale. For some odd reason they numbered the comics in the regular issue size then they made a giant book that isn't numbered.

I don't know why they just didn't release it as one huge book.

The time-line doesn't make any sense if you put the slightest amount of thought in to it. Forget the inconsistencies in Venom, Thor, Doom etc... Starlin gets horribly bogged down in his attempts at establishing a time-line just in terms of the Hulk.

Thanos and Warlock explicitly restore the universe back to shortly after the Thanos vs Hulk mini. But that mini took place - again, very explicitly - during Mark Waid's Indestructible Hulk run. That places it squarely before any of the "Time Runs Out" and "Secret Wars" stuff, because Hulk had become "Doc Green" by that point and remained in that incarnation up to and including the beginning of "Secret Wars".

So that would suggest that this story must have occurred before the Beyonders killed the Living Tribunal etc. But that doesn't fit, because the Beyonders killing the LT is explicitly referenced in this very issue and Adam Warlock takes the vacant role. Starlin evidently got the timeframe completely mixed up (or just didn't care) and as a result there is no real way to reconcile this story with the rest of the MU's development over the last couple of years as far as I can see.

It's just Starlin doing his own thing again, given plenty of slack on the leash because everyone knows it will never be referenced in a meaningful way again. I'd be amazed if people like Brevoort consider this to be canon.

Cheers.

Thanks.

So there's no possible way it can fit, no matter how much one wants it to.

It is hysterical to see fans clamoring over why this doesn't count as if continuty has always perfectly aligned. Give it up you Thanos haters. Canon. Deal with it. Even referenced the rogue Beyonders. Marvels the end is canon and has been mentioned multiple times in canon books FYI. 😉

Canon, yes... but filled with errors, much like Death of Wolverine mini.

I want to work as a Marvel editor. $$$ for doing a whole lot of nothing.

Seems like recently Marvel is going down the drain 10x faster than DC is, that isn't to say DC is 100% good either.

I've started reading some independent comics now.

I downloaded every Walking Dead comic and I plan to read them soon.

Finally. You'll love the book at least as much as the show, trust me.

Black & white works for it really well, there is no artist change aside from Moore leaving after the first arc... letter columns are fun, too.

There are no tie-ins, excluding a few backstories here and there, so you should have everything you need... but more on that later or via PM.

Here when everyone is killed, Annihilus orders to destroy both moon and Earth.

Here, Thanos acknowledges that he didn't try to get the army of the dead or Annihilus would've destroyed the moon.

The attacks were not as powerful as before because Annihilus wanted to kill his enemies one by one as stated here.

And yes, Thanos also got his hand blasted off as shown here.

Puny marvel heroes and Titans. Here is how you survive more than moon destroying attacks under the same writer.

mmm

DC heroes are on another level, I tell you.

Starlin made it clear again just like in Infinity Crusade.

Coincidentally a supernova would have killed everyone on marvel earth under Starlin. Including Thanos. Just like here.

Even though it was illusion created by Warlock, if he hadn't created it Goddess would've killed the whole universe with those exploding stars.

Death of Wolverine in a nutshell:
Ogun: Hey I'm alive again!

Cyber: Me too!

Cornelius: And me!!!

Wolverine: facepalm
I wish the artist did a better job showing that.

I do too. Its clear that his hand is blasted off though.

I lol'd at the scene when Death hops on Thanos and they kiss 😂

Yeah, Starlin making his fantasies clear.

durwank

Yes 😂

Imagine the poor artist's face when Starlin handed him the script all covered in semen.

Only semen?

... 😆

It definitely isn't.

We see his full arm and hand a few pages later as he stands atop the pile of bodies. We've also seen that exact scene several times during the previous "Infinity ..." stories (you can see one depiction of it in Insane Titan's signature for example). The full yellow glove is still there too which rules out regeneration in the intervening time.

It's pretty clear that in the panel with Thanos on his knees, his arm is bent with most of it obscured behind his shoulder. If his hand had actually been blown off, the end of his arm wouldn't still be in yellow glove, which it clearly is in the panel you are suggesting shows him as mutilated.

Cheers.

Uh, in those previous scenes, the heroes are in one piece. Here they are blown up into pieces.

Clearly, Starlin doesn't even knows what he is plotting.

And Thanos seems to reflect upon his memory there.

Sure. But that's much more easily chalked up to artistic inconsistency ("the heroes were dead" is the important message conveyed there after all) than Thanos having a hand or not having a hand.

Clearly, Starlin doesn't even knows what he is plotting.

Agreed that Starlin is genuinely, laughably terrible (I legitimately do not understand how anyone could actually enjoy his recent work, aside from the Thanos feats if you are that way inclined. He's basically Loeb level at this point in terms of dialogue, characterisations, completely unable to think of new ideas etc).

But that aside, Thanos pretty clearly does not have his hand blown off. Even in the panel you are pointing to we can still clearly see the yellow glove at the end of his arm. A few pages later, we can see his whole, in-one-piece arm and hand. The earlier depictions of this same scene are just the icing on the cake.

Cheers.
