You guys are failing at a few things.
He-Man and Lion-O are equals.
Adam after becoming He-Man is equal to base Lion-O. Just like He-Man can use the Sword of Power to amp himself, Lion-O can use the Sword Of Omens to also amp himself further. That scan even showed Lion-O doing just that. Not only that, Lion-O was in no way trying to kill He-Man. Lion-O's whole game plan was defensive while trying to remove the rage form He-Man.
I would say overall, that He-Man has Lion-O in strength, not by a far margin mind you, while Lion-O has He-Man on Agility.
Wut.
He-Man's best strength feat is shoving two rather large moons in quick succession.
(They were large enough to see from even behind Eternia, and they were affecting the planet's tides)
Lion-O's best strength feat is...hmm...I think keeping a ship from reaching take off speed.
I'd place Lion-O at Thing or Colossus level in strength.

If He-Man was so far above Lion-O as you seem to be claiming, he wouldn't need to use tactics to beat him. He would be able to fight like Hulk and win. You are far overstating the physical disparity. Lion-O deserves credit.
