So if Hulk told Thor "I will kill you" and goes into a rage punching Thor... hitting him in the head with haymakers, you'll still say Hulk is holding back?

pretty much. tbf, the sides are pretty clearly drawn in the vs forum and i do think a lot is just tongue-in-cheek-bait-trolling. it gets a little tiresome from time to time but if abhi and rage ended their dance, think how sad that would make all of us. 👆

It would depend on the following page.

Like whether or not the Hulk was setting him up for something else, as was clearly the case here.

Phil and Abhi are trying to get Rage riled up, but I worry you might actually think that Thor was trying to kill him.

I always thought it was cool how those moments Superman was taking a huge beating, and you think he's in danger for a moment, and he's then reveals it was all part of the plan with a smile and you breathe a sigh of relief.

This was back before I visited battle boards though and I was a young little thunderer...

Don't let the battle boards make you cynical. Those kinds of moments are what makes comics so special to begin with.

A bad showing in a book and some smack talk in a thread doesn't change the fact that Thor or Supes (or yes, Carver, even Hulk) will still pull off the impossible as soon as the situation demands it.

On another note that first Venom issue was huge. It went through a lot of stuff without feeling rushed and it felt like a way bigger comic because of it. That was a weird feeling.

Not bad writing either. I am interested now.

Not knowing the context of bootleg Hulk baby-shaking Thor cause I don't read comics is far less important than the context of this line here:
