yes, he's very powerful. He is the most powerful of his brothers, is a casual reality warper, and classic Strange required a lot of amps in order to beat him. With that said, he suffers from being a villain and therefore has some serious low showings.

He would be an interesting villain in the Guardians of the Galaxy area though...

AvX introduced Thor being a punching bag with a passion. Outside of his own run (Fraction|) he had a massive string of successive knockouts, sometimes twice by the same opponent.
Then we enter Marvel Now, Thor's stock picks up a little bit outside his own title and massively inside his own title (Jason Aaron) Then boom, original sin, 2014 (?), Thor loses his hammer, his arm, his name, the own title to his book, loses to opponents he should beat and gets chained up for about a years worth of comics with zero feats inbetween.
Enter current Marvel, Thor has yet to perform a significant feat worth mentioning. Giving juggernaut a good hit? Beating Fenris? This used to be standard stuff.
So Carver, to answer your question, he's been a punching bag for a while.
In this year alone he's been beaten by Asian Hulk, raped (almost literally) by muscular she hulk, and lost a tooth to Devil Immortal Hulk.

So Thor defeating Corvus, Proxima, etc... and working Collector isnt a beastly showing? He also fought even against Jane who in the same comic damaged amped adamantium. Lol... this is the same guy who fought against a gang of Beyonders and held his own. The same character that was going head to head with Thanos in infinity. The same person who was holding his own recently against Mangog and jumped clean out of the sun. I dont know what more you're looking for. Youre naming him being defeated by Hulks...
She Hulk is amped to the point of being able to physically take on Celestials.
Cho Hulk absorbed Hulk complete power. The same Hulk that had just amped off enough energy to kill every being on the planet (and it was still rising) and Cho absorbed that power along with Hulk power, along with a nuke and contained it all of this time until he let Hulk out.
Immortal Hulk. The same Hulk who is as pissed as ever, who just stomped the avengers and became even more powerful after that. Lol... him losing to this type of power isnt a bad showing. Now if Blue Marvel swept in and tapped that a**, I can understand.

Carver that was one mini series in midst of the garbage that happened to him. One 5 issue mini series where except for the final issue he spent tied up getting beat by fodder.
The beyonders showing is nice, but it is what it is. Doesn't mean he had any more respect because of it. Are you suggesting there's nothing going on with the character or something?
He fought evenly with a Jane not trying to hurt him, that is the sad truth.

You can see the little Hulk wheel turning in Carver's head. Look at him naming all the good feats he can of Thor to try and make Hulk look better.

Also lol at him thinking She Hulk was amped enough to take on Celestials but still wondering what she's done to be considered above Hulk besides saying she's stronger than Hulk.
Either way, Hulk is like double amped right now in addition to whatever amps he might have gotten from the "Immortal" thing. Apparently vastly stronger than Thor's ever fought before from him, so that should include his Asgardian hammer amped WWH form. Quite the amp he got. 🙂
