40 mA seems a bit low. A human could survive it for a full second without sustaining permanent damage, beyond that there's a 5% chance of a heart stop.
AC-1: imperceptible
AC-2: perceptible but no muscle reaction
AC-3: muscle contraction with reversible effects
AC-4: possible irreversible effects
AC-4.1: up to 5% probability of ventricular fibrillation
AC-4.2: 5–50% probability of fibrillation
AC-4.3: over 50% probability of fibrillation

To be fair, another thing to consider is the voltage. If the voltage is high then it's going to hurt like hell and it would take a bit of time to recover from that, but then it'd also be a very short pulse.

Yes, but shouldn't metahumans be more resistant to lightning by a few orders of magnitude at least? To be fair, another thing to consider is the voltage. What base are you using for this orders of magnitude? If a normal human can casually lift 10kg, what is a few orders of magnitude (at least) higher? If I assume base 10, isn't that like, casually curling 1,000kg, i.e. 1 ton (at least)?
Then if a meta is unable to do so, do we say that's pretty weak?
Edit: 1 ton, not 10 lmao. But the point remains, we can scale up - 10kg after all is 'light' - no one would be impressed if you told them as an adult male you can curl 10kg.
Bench 100kg? 2 orders of magnitude stronger = benching 10 tons. Meta just means superpowered, I thought.

Scientifically 10 is used, because we use base 10 to write numbers, e.g.the charge of an electron in SI units is 1.6×10⁻¹⁹ C.I mean Kryptonians are meta-humans, so comparatively, yes?
Ah cool, we are using comparatively. OK.
Compared to Kryptonians who are under a red sun, curling 1 ton casually is not comparatively weak 🙂
Meta just means superpowered.

The guy from War of Kings?
Couldn't stand him. Although I guess he was less evil then Black Bolt who tried genociding the universe (End result of making all races Inhuman is to genocide all races except Inhuman)
