Character Ownage

I think a god like Odin for example who has been shown to operate on a cosmic level should be officially elevated to say the "Galactus" tier distilling any doubt but making Mikaboshi an Anti-Eternity is too far in my opinion.

I've noticed a trend with Pak. He loves upgrading his pets. The Hulk has had two pretty serious power ups, Amadeus has had a pretty heft upgrade, Hercules has had a massive upgrade and now Mikaboshi gets one.

His a classic battle board fanboy.

Why couldn't he be a fan of Thor? 🙁

Or he could just stay at Skyfather... no reason to make the power creep any worse.

Also one has to wonder: Herc is likely being set up to take Zeus's place while Cho is clearly taking Herc's...so who's going to take Cho's place as the Prince of Power's Sidekick? 😛

Because you scared him off the character when you spammed his mail with your nude fanart. peaches

I guess, but I bet more than a few people would have been upset with a Skyfather level character having Galactus shake in his boots. Course, when has Marvel cared about upsetting fans in the last decade?

If he was a true fan, he'd have saved those masterpieces in his fap folder.

He's a punk, he kept them and didn't tell you because he was ashamed.

Pak will fall out of favor eventually anyway.

Gotta stay strong mentally.

Maybe Thor will be more well represented in the new Avengers cartoon. Preliminarily, his best feats already seem to be much better than Hulk's in that show.

edit: Nevermind. The Hulk wanking in the first full episode was in full force. Hulk alone overcame Graviton's power. Thor was ****ing pinned down.

I don't think any of the Marvel Gods should be elevated to that status.

You're missing the point about Amatsu-Mikaboshi not even being important within his own religion. So why should he rise multiple tiers above the likes of Zeus, Odin, or Vishnu?

When was it stated amatsu is not that important in his religion?

What do you mean "when was it stated"?

He's a minor God.

Here he's listed as a Minor Kami:

marvel doesn't nec accrue to the real hierarchy of gods...I meant in marvel, they might treat ameritsu as the most important deity of his religion

Well in the eyes of a lot of Shinto Amaterasu might be the most important, seeing as the Emperor is said to be her descendant.

who would buy a mikaboshi comic if he wasnt elevated to abstract 😬
it was a good idea for them and it also made it one of the best selling comics so obviously alot of comic buyers like it, it also gives marvel a chance to show were skyfathers and abstracts fall into the cosmic heirachry

Greater power doesn't automatically make for a more compelling character, quite the opposite in fact. Making him Eternity's equal will only serve to make his inevitable defeat by Herc and Hulk all the more stupid.

Popularity =/= quality, the fact that Marvel has marketed the **** out of this piece of burning garbage doesn't mean that it's not a horrible story so far. When Digi called you out on your "Chaos War outsold Thanos Imperative" tripe you couldn't provide a solid justification for why you think that's significant or how it makes Chaos War better than TI, or even a good story. The fact that Twilight is a New York Times Best Seller speaks less to its quality and more to the fact that tweenage girls are for most part idiots. The same applies to the majority of comics readers tbh.

it also gives marvel a chance to show were skyfathers and abstracts fall into the cosmic heirachry

If anything it will just blur the lines because here we have a bunch of Heralds and a few Skyfathers partnering with an Abstract to take down an Abstract.

I can't speak for other countries but in germany comics are still directed at kids and pretty much kids only. In places like Walmart (or similar stores) the comics are always between winny pooh and barbie stuff and something like a pure comic store doesn't even exist anymoire we used to have 2, 1 got closed, the other one is now 90% Manga and 10% comics.

Which doesn't at all make up for the weaknesses in the plot.

tbh superman is king of stupid plots and power ups by far

but you're making it seem like that's not the case with all large events.

thanos imperative has its share of garbage just like every major event

Firstly Superman only gets major powerups in crossovers or mostly self contained story arcs, but for the asinine Electric Blue period he's been fairly consistent for the last 20 years, with a gradual change in power closer to his PC days but no abrupt power ups.

Secondly how does this at all defend your argument that Mikaboshi being raised to Abstract was a good idea?

I tend to look at major events with supsension of disbelief on, but in this case Chaos War is just too awful to pay money for. It's easily one of the worst story arcs Marvel has churned out since Brand New Day.
