It's a sad thing about comics really. 😛 Hard to show actual "skill" w/o going the narratives route or via nerve strikes/acrobatics/

What's even sadder is that ppl use this as evidence that ppl like Ares and Thor have little/no MA combat skills comparable to the Wolverine's/Captain Americas/Batman's/etc due to how they're portrayed in comics. Even tho, character history as well as backstory (as well as Marvel Bios--which I agree are NOT conclusive evidence) point out that they easily should.

Most comic writers and to a lesser extent aritsts just seem to not know how to really display a good MA fight. Sometimes they do but mostly nope

Deadpool, IF, Shang, and Daredevil usually look like competent martial artists.

Honestly, if they just showed people block more often, it would look a thousand times better.
