if peter increased his mass, he should weigh more than 500 pounds. Actually, a person who is 7'5'' and is made of pure metal is bound to weigh more than 500 pounds. Unless organic steel is extremely light weight.

Here is another scan of the ship from Secret Wars #9 that Colossus braced when it crash landed. He was injured when he did this too.
It looks like it's pretty big. I realize the stabilizers were put on but it was too late as Reed said. It's similar to driving a car down the highway 65 then somebody pulls in front of you but it's too late even if you hit the brakes.
The momentum of the fallin ship had to make this harder than just lifting it.
In Uncanny #106 the X-Men are training in the Danger Room. Wolverine seems to be dancing around while avoiding flamethrowers and lasers until a steel girder starts to fall on him. Colossus sees it, but is unable to warn Wolverine. He quickly morphs into his metal form and shoves Wolverine out of harm’s way, only to have the girder break on top of him.

Uncanny #96 a demon called Kierrok tried to kill Storm but Colossus would not let that happen. Colossus did not take him down for good but punched him hard enough and knocked him back to let him know that he had a fight on his hands.

Uncanny #106 during a dream of Professor X Colossus runs to Cylops' aid, only to be hit hard by his optic blasts. Angel has removed his visor! Colossus fights through the optic blast, managing to distract Angel just long enough for Cyclops to break free and take down Angel.

Uncanny #95 the X-Men are falling from the sky. Cyclops tells Storm and Banshee to carry two people each and for Nightcrawler to teleport. Nightcrawler says he cannot teleport because he would materialize at the same velocity. Colossus says he can take care of himself and he crashes into the ground. Storm carries Wolverine and Nightcrawler down but Banshee could only carry Thunderbird, so he would have to come back for Cyclops. They find Colossus safe at the center of a deep crater, protected from the impact by his steel form.
