Not really. Ultimate Colossus is >>> 616, after all.

And remember...

616 Magneto>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Ultimate Magneto. 😉

Some new Colossus feats I came acrossed.

Colossus' body was so hot that when Rougue touched him she burned her gloves. Colossus didn't even notice his body was so hot.

Here is a jumping/leaping feat.

Colossus jumped high enough into the air to punch a Sentinel in the face.

They are alike in many way, but what exactly would be the point if they were exactly the same?

Aside from Ultimate War, who else has jobbed to him?

616 Colossus isn't gay. This isn't 616 Colossus.

It seems like you're problem is that he isn't a carbon copy of the regular Colossus.

Look at Ult. Wolverine, he's basically the same as his 616 counterpart these days. A fair amount of the Ult. X-Men are. The fact that Colossus differs, makes him one of the more interesting characters in the title. What's the point of the Ultimate line if everyone's the same?

Honestly the Ultimate universe is a modern retelling of the Marvel Universe.

However that docent mean that characters have to be changed so dramatically.

I mean I cant imagine Marvel making Ult. Thing or Ult. Cap gay, so why would they make Ult. Colossus gay?!?

The rest of the Ult. characters are very much like their 616 counterparts with small differences, but making a character gay all of sudden, is especially out of character, especially considering that its just a crappy plot device from Mark Millar anyway

True, but considering that Ult. Magneto held up about a dozen or more Setinals about 400 feet in the air and reprogramed them I think he can handle stopping a guy made of metal 😐

But it doesn't mean they don't have to be dramatically chaged either. Alot of characters are generally the same, but alot of them aren't. The ones that aren't, are more interesting since they have things going on that haven't been seen before. IMO.

But it's not out of character. It is part of the character. If they suddenly turned 616 Colossus gay that would be out of character. With Ult. Colossus it was hinted at pretty early on so it is part of that character.

But that's the problem right there. You can't retell the story of Colossus in the modern world because of his background. He was born and raised in the Soviet Union, which doesn't exist in the modern world. He worked as a farmer by hand, which is no longer done in the modern world, with the advancement of technology.

Those two factors were some of the largest factors of 616 Colossus' character.

That still dosent mean that Marvel had to make him gay.

Oh well. They can still help fix it by making him Bi-Sexual 😛

Colossus swings a tree with enough force to crush falling boulders.

Colossus uses his speed to catch and smash some missles during a training excersise in the Danger Room. They must have been moving pretty fast cause one of them knocked Rouge loopy.

Colossus also bascically tells Rogue she is not as tough as he is.

How would making him bisexual make it better? Is being gay a bad thing, even when it matches his character? That's the point of Colossus in the first place, is to show irony between a soft personality and a strong body.

If anything, 616 Colossus should be homosexual. I don't want to turn it into a stereotype, but he is the tortured artist type, which many might associate with being gay.

I can understand that, but thats another thing about Ult. Colossus.

I havent seen any kind of artistic thing about him and its such a key point in his character.

Overall, I dont hate Ult. Colossus because he's gay, because I hated him long before I even figured that out.

I really don't get the problem that you're having with Ultimate Colossus being gay. It's in his character in the Ultimate Universe.

I mean, you say you're not homophobic, yet you have this problem. It doesn't really make sense. 😬

Exactly.

616 northstar is gay, ultimate northstar is gay... 616 cyclops is straight, ultimate cyclops is straight...

why is colossus so different?

the honest impression i get is that the big strong guy is sensitive so 'ooh, he must be gay'

to me it just seems like marvel is just reinforcing another stereotype...

and no, just because ultimate colossus is gay, doesnt mean 616 should be straight... thats like saying 'ultimate northstar is gay, but hes more of a 'strong silent type' in 616, so he should be straight'... i'm not saying he is or should be either, its just an example...

and i guarantee if northstar (either one of em), was made straight after being gay for so long shit would hit the fan...

It was actually about 300-500 Sentinels. In the next issue, Jean did a head count of them and said it was about that much.

Juggernaut, Cap, and Vision are alot different than their 616 counterparts also.

Im just saying if Marvel made Ult. Thing gay I would be mad as hell.

Why? Its not in the character. It wasnt in Colossus's nature to be gay so Marvel made Ult. Colosssus competely different from 616 Colossus just so he could be gay. Thats what bothers me

Different in small ways, but in the end their characters are pretty much the same 😬

Ultimate Vision is the same as 616 Vision?!?

WHA?
