well their are so many times where it shows his eyes to be metal and then some (few) where they show some color to his eyes (which never really ment that the went metaled over). I think the entire ultimate x-men cannon up to nightmare proved that his eye's were not vunrable. Serously he took ironman's repulsers with his eyes open, a shot from a sentenal, oh yeah a nuke and quite few other things which would have gored out his eyes. It's more like the writter of nightmare didn't py attention to the fact that his eyes do change and just made some plot device up so that falcoin could get a win (a bs win at that) over colossus.

It has actually been stated that his eyes don't change to organic metal in 1610(Ultimate). It's just that for such a powerful guy, a weakness like that would take away from the story, and make him incredibly vulnerable to anything from a blaster to someone with good aim, so they just neglect it. Also, when his eyes change in 616, they just go to dull white with no pupils or irises visible. Although since they don't pay attention to the fact that his eyes stay normal, and Ultimate Colossus is smooth metal instead of segmented, it's possible they let him keep pupils and irises.

it showed in several instances in ultimate 1610 that his eyes do the exact same thing that you described about 616. almost every time in the first volume there was no visible pupils and irises. they just changed it later in the volumes. simply because for ultimate x-men it just sucked more and more as time has gone on.

I read a few scans, and you've got a point J. Before he saved the sub, his eyes were all yellow. Well, the writers stated that his eyes stayed normal somewhere, but I guess having a guy who lift subs getting taken down by an eye gouge is kind of uber fail.

the stuff on this page is exactly why i've always preferred 616 colossus to ultimate.

Well, his powers are basically the same, as he's done feats of astounding strength in both Ultimate and 616, they've just made some of the people he's fought weaker, ala Iron Man being in about the 20 ton range, or Thor just not being up to snuff. And I don't really have a problem with the gay thing, I just like the Kitty and Peter relationship. Although I'd have to say at this moment in time, the top 3 strongest mortal characters in Marvel are Hulk, Colossus, and Juggernaut, since Hulk has ripped Wolverine in half, and Pete withstood adamantium claws, then got gutted open, his heart ripped out, and still ripped Wolverine's leg off. And Juggernaut beat Colossus.

I hate the whole "his eyes don't change" thing - it just makes no sense at all. And the banshee stuff just ****ed up ultimate Colossus even more. The only difference to 616 Colossus i liked, is Ultimate's homosexuality.

Yes, he was on Banshee, and like any drug, over time, it f's you up. That's what it did to him. And no, it didn't hurt him, he was surprised that Logan cut him open, an effect of the Banshee, since the first time Logan cut him it did nothing. And even after Logan ripped his heart out, he was only surprised, then he proceeded to rip Logan's leg off. And he was fine afterward.

the fact that he was on the drug at all just ruins the character for me, tbh...

Yeah, I didn't like that either, they changed it so that without the drug, all he can do is stand there and take punishment. I think after his recovery though, he'll start to gain strength without Banshee.

Yeah, when he saw his heart, he was pissed off and confused, not hurt, and I hated the drug thing. I really think they could have turned it around if they kept the comics around.
