Well technically Christ was never born in December as the alledged controversy has led. So I mean, anyone can celebrate Christmas (since of course the meaning of Christmas in the presents).

It is doubtful that Jesus was truly born on December 25th. Some early church fathers believed it to have been December 25th, but the Bible does not say when Jesus was born. Some argue that Jesus was born in the Fall, probably in September by our modern calendars. However, the Bible does not even really tell us what season Jesus was born. The early church declared December 25th to be Jesus’ birthday in order to replace a pagan Roman holiday, Saturnalia. Ironically, December 25th was a celebration of the birthday of the sun god. The early church, in an attempt to get rid of the pagan holiday, declared December 25th to be the birthday of the Son of God. Now, Jesus very may well have been born on December 25th – we simply do not know. Whatever the case, it does not matter, theologically, when Jesus was born. It also, therefore, does not matter what day we celebrate His birth. Rather than disputing December 25th as the day of Jesus' birth, we should be grateful that an increasingly non-Christian society even celebrates His birth at all.

Xmas has become nothing more than a commercial holiday for our consumer culture. Non-Christians don't celebrate Jesus' b-day, they buy gifts and lovingly exchange them during a time of family love and care.

yeah, I hate those assholes

You hate them because they buy gifts for one another and lovingly echange them as a sign of their love for one another? And they're @$$holes because of that? Wow. I guess you should be wearing a swastika on your sleeve, buddy.

I'm a Catholic so that means I am the number one religion. Not a Nazi

Athiests are definatly not allowed to celebrate Easter.

Number one? Uhhh.....................there are more Hindi believers than there are Catholics in the world. Are you gonna call them assholes too, Adolf?

you are being retarded, you are seriusly just targeting a relgion and calling them assholes for the SOLE reason that they celebrate a holiday that you want all to yourself

Athiests should celebrate their own stupid holiday.

Get yourself a holiday at the end of December.

It's called "Christmas.

Therefore the birth of son of god.

How could you celebrate a holiday and call it Christmas.

Call it Love day or something different. You stupid athiests

alright, you can say i don't think atheists should celebrate christmas, and while this is a stupid statement, i respect it, but when you just start calling atheists stupid and assholes, thats crossing the line. your just being a greedy kid who wants a holiday all to himself. the way christmas has evolved over the years its not a religous holiday anymore unless you make it one. and oooooh, its called christmas, well all they ahve to do is call it Xmas then its good.

and i just figured something out. why do you celebrate halloween, do you believe in ghosts and demons and witches? if not then why do you celebrate it, i dont think you should be able to, only people who believe in witches and ghouls should. put that in ur pipe and smoke it

Christmas IS a Day of Love, you lunatic. Remember your Bible verses: "Judge not, lest ye be judged." What would Jesus say? The attitude you have toward atheists is uncalled for and bigoted.

you're a faggy athiest anyway. so you'll burn in hell

do you wanna get shot?? you will if you keep this up. you contradict urself so much. honestly, do you think jesus would judge someone the way you do??? do you think jesus would call someone a faggy atheist?? no, if anything, jesus is up their gettin hella pissed at you for being such an ignorant and judging bastard

Christmas as we know it was a pagan holiday adopted by the U.S. government that many religions picked up because they didn't actually know what the date was of Christ's birth.

-My dad.

yeah, it's actually scientifically proven that christ was not even born in the month of december

How is it scientifically proven he wasn't born in December you f ucking dumbass piece of shit.

number one, please resist the urge to name call, mr. im the best religion

and two, because it had someth8ing to do with taxes why Mary and Joseph were out wandering or something, and they didnt collect taxes until februrary or something.

and i am getting sick of ur ignorance

They were on their way for what is called a "Cencus". An official, usually periodic enumeration of a population, often including the collection of related demographic information, and evaluation of their property for taxation purposes. And on Mary and Josephs way they gave birth to Jesus in a manger, and the three kings came with gifts because they were told by angels that Jesus would rise high above them.

Demarest, please refrain from name calling. Keep your cool.
