wayyy too powerful for pitiful street fighters....

when I see sf guys taking gods out just by thinking it, maybe I'll be impressed....

well street fighter fans seem to be under the impression that ryu fights like dragonball z... (although.. I'm not sure what anime character doesnt dodge bullets or throw beam fireballs.. but anyways..) .. strangely its not considered 'plot induced stupidity'.... but rather.. 'canon'.. as they say

What reptile wouldn't beat ryu... where is this coming from? Oh yes, the "lets use the media that supports us, while the other side gets the weak end".

I'll admit that both sides are doing it however. doh and that it'll never end.

I'm not a big fan of the MK series, however I remain very well informed on how powerfull certain characters are.

I have two things to say...Akuma, Gill. I'm done.

Raiden is a god I understand that but the point of Mortal Kombat is that a mere mortal can rise to destroy a God. Leave it to Akuma to cross that line with ease and Gill is pretty much like a God and I hate him for it! I want Gill to die a horrible death! I will eat his heart, I will...sorry. Those two are far crueller than anything MK has to offer. Including the Dragon King (Lord) whatever.

Haha, and don't forget Oro... lol.

Its good to hear a new opinion around here!

It's not new. Everyone's thinking it some people are just in denial.

no this rule
number 3. Please, try and keep them to no more than 3 vs. 3. If they are in teams, each team can have up to 5. Otherwise it just gets too hard to discuss. Matches that are 1v1v1 etc are not allowed and will be closed.

That all depends on how the thread is going. If it's something like EVERY character from game one vs. EVERY character from game two, I'll allow it, because each side would be fighting as a single entity. Once you start splitting off certain characters then that rule comes into effect and the thread needs to be closed.

oh ok

"the point" of mortal kombat is to demonstrate that mortals can change the destinies that god have laid out for them....

no mortal ever "rose" to beat raiden, shinnok, or shao kahn at their full power... instead Gods let themselves be depowered to be capible of fighting in a MORTAL kombat tournament.. makes quite a bit of difference when lui kang beats a mortalized shao kahn then when shao kahn and raiden are quaking the planet with their fight...

MK wins, don't get me wrong I don't think SF are just gonna lie down and give up but MK has more god-like characters, SF will put up a good fight but MK wins in the end I think.

God is still a term open to interpretation, and sets no clear limit...

Someone explain to me how the guardian of earth letting the planet blow up is "in character"?

explain to me how that's relivant to anything here...
raiden never has let the planet blow up, but then again if it was going to, he's not omnipotent... he is a lesser god but a god none the less.. you say titles, I say titles backed with sufficient feats to make them fitting titles.. but whatevah.

Well everyone's been going on about "blowing the planet" but why would it matter if it would be out of character for a significant portion of the "kombatants".

Not my point again...

Akuma's considered a god, so what?

Explain to me, when you say god, does that mean something special... its no different to me than saying, dragon, paladin, or mutant.

Some mutants are weak, and some have multiversal power, so its all open to interpretation. And relevancy to what its being scaled to...

it does matter because a number of the kombatants are at that powerlevel...
SFers aren't... it serves as a statute of comparison... kinda like that old saying "you bring a knife to a gun fight."

Who considers akuma to be a god? 🤨

gods are gods.. I really don't see how this has to be explained to you, I know you're intelligent enough to figure it out on your own... and we know what he's being scaled to.. street fighters without a portion of the power he has... again I don't know why this has to be explained.

Could you explain to me "that" powerlevel though... please.

that powerlevel- capible of destroying planets..

(sf guys aren't... meaning less powerful)

still as circular as ever eh?

No need to be rude again... and my point was why would raiden allow it... and we already went over what your premise of these were based on...

No need to rehash though, "god" set no clear limit, I needed a more direct interpretation... thanks.

how is calling a circular argument "circular" being rude? 🤨

I've already explained that something like the planet blowing up is out of raidens realm of control... He's a god of thunder akin to what thor is in the MU in some capacities, though seemingly far more powerful than thor he's still not as powerful as say a god of creation or anything..

as far as my premises.. the games? okay.

Non canon fatalities... 😬

dude it was part of the characters described abilities.. in one of the endings an automated ninja is used to blow up the portal connecting earthrealm and outworld to one another... the explosion is so large it completely vaporizes the planet sized gateway...

eventually you're just gonna have to accept the fact that these characters can do the things their creators said they could do...

and again, no offense but we've been getting examples of shin akuma in this who isn't even a canon character...

I'm not even going on about "who's winning" or not, because its not going anywhere, and its always a single issue not addressed... I think the problem on both sides is that people are using unfair potrayals of media... which is all to common in this kind of debate.

Not canon.

lol so we're going by "said" and not by "done" or "consistent"

I already said both sides are guilty.

You already know the deal with Shin Akuma anyways...
