ACTON - The Acton No Place for Hate Committee is excited to announce the fourth annual Martin Luther King Community Breakfast on Monday, Jan. 16.
All area residents are invited to attend. Guest speaker state Rep. Byron Rushing, D-Boston, will talk about the Civil Rights Movement: Past, Present and Future, with a particular emphasis on related issues that impact our community today. Rushing has been a leader on civil rights issues for over 30 years, including voting rights, human rights, and most recently marriage rights for same-sex couples, and currently serves as an assistant majority leader in the House of Representatives.
