Silverspider/Dizzle's Team Tournament: First Round Drafts

Thing is still available (both regular and Ultimate)

blech. I change my mind; if i can--, someone needs to clean this thread.

anyway--I chose Occulus; instead of the other guy.

http://www.marvunapp.com/Appendix/occulusinniverse.htm

first off I would like to apologize to strom front and khellandros, but whirly has informed me that DB could actually take peoples powers permantly, from anywhere (i was basing it on the few comics I thought he was in, but it seems that at one point he flew to some girl with super speed and there was no one around him (he was using Mon-El powers) but I hadnt read that, but still I cant be fualted cuz he really only used mostly one power at a time (which I think he is retconned the way he is) from people present

so anyways DB retconned can permanatly mimic someone as long as there close, and can only have one persons power at a time.....

http://www.dragonhero.com/lsh/lallor/duplicate-boy.html

sidenote: I not saying this is true or false, but according to whirly he got all the power, but none of the weaknesses (think Alan Scott with no wood weakness...) but whatever....

also to those who picked Ironman (which suit) and Wonder Girl (which one?)

This guy is pretty mean. He gave the FF a run for their money. But his bio has him within the tourney's limits.

Dammit Illadelph, your really killin me here. Thanks to LP, for being an equally sneaky bastard, but overrating eveyone's comic reading age. Depowering EVERYONE is definitely banned. That's 4, Ill.

I assume Scoob is taking Ironman's current, standard armor. (no Thorbuster crap in here)

Warpath is fine, Occulus should be fine.

Keep in mind, everyone, if you argue one character to be completely above the limits (having successfully snuck them into the tourney) me and silverspider both reserve the right to sic TOAA on your uber guy and remove him from the match... And I doubt anyone would have a strong enough 3 person team to go far at all. Yes, breaking the rules can actually get you punished! Woohoo!

This is ridiculous.

I don't think Aquarian should be banned. There is no difference between his kinetic energy dampening field and Sebastian Shaw, Cannonball, or Bishop's ability to absorb kinetic energy. Aquarian simply saps kinesis in a close proximity to him (500 feet max). He's well within the limitations in place. He's below Thing in Strength, Killability and Heart, and his energy projection levels are not higher than Ironman. He doesn't depower characters, he simply dampens the effects of their attacks rendering them inoperable against him.

Man....

thats semantics

it the same power

and if it has the ability to strip cosmic level beings of their power, which is what we are getting the impression it does (some scans or whatnot either way might help), its way above the power levels allowed in this tourney

But he's not that powerful, it's simply a tactical trumpcard. It's like Cannonbal being in flight. Would Cannonball be banned?

it may be the Aquarian's 'untouchableness' that's getting him banned... any power set against him isn't just dampened, it's virtually cancelled, before it hits him or anyone that gets close to him is depowered. Whereas with Shaw or Bishop, it's different, that they have to try and absorb the power directed their way, but they can be overloaded and Shaw only absorbs kinetic energy via physical blows dealt to him, Bishop only energy based attacks but still impact sensitive (from what I know). Aquarian's power is broader than both.

Long Pig, you're going to be kicking yourself if we wind up on the same team.

Who do I go to for an appeal?

Makkari:

http://www.marveldirectory.com/individuals/m/makkari.htm

I still want to appeal the Aquarian's prohibition, and I reserve rights to his use in the future if it's overturned. If he's dissallowed, any character with forcefields (Unus, Ironman), energy fields, or impact dampening abilities (Black Panther's armor, Ironman's tractor beams, Blob, etc.) should be banned as well.

Dammit, telekinesis is banned.

This has gotten plain frustrating now.

So Aquarian's forcefield only negates kinetic energy?

But the Aquarian's field differs to a standard force field, in that a force shield only blocks physical force and incoming energy blasts. And that's all it does. A standard field can be overpowered/shattered or bypassed if it's not activated. The Aquarian's field is always up, it completely destroys any type of power that enters plus depowering anyone that gets within range. It doesn't really matter to me either way but that's may be why he's banned. To make it even more frustrating, I believe Makkari will also be banned (he's as fast as the Runner).
