well, Alfred Molina portrayed Doc Ock so well it was epic...
although the whole bit about peter falling in love so he couldn't use his powers was a bit lame...but i totally agree, SM2 is the best so far...
and if Sony knew how much more of a reaction they might've got if they employed an independent director for that particular character, i don't think they would've cared too much about a bit more money spent.
What they need to do is introduce MJ as a vibrant person who can do for herself and isn't mad or down on her luck all the time. The MJ I know from the comics and cartoons is Peter's spirit....almost his guiding light, actually. I want to see that. I want to see Peter come in from a long night of crime fighting and have Mary Jane ask him how it went, and sit there and talk to him. I don't want to hear her ***** over some bad reviews, which is something that would never keep the real MJ down. She's not supposed to be moody and whiny.
