Guide to Happiness

Everyone, please feel free to add to the list below.

The following are things/thoughts that really make me feel better when I feel unhappy:

1. When you experience any emotion that makes you feel discomfort or intense suffering of any kind, say the following to yourself: "This is what suffering feels like. May all other living beings be without suffering while I'm suffering.

2. Other people are suffering more than I do at this very moment, I must have compassion for them.

3. I must not take myself this serious. I have no self, but I'm intimately connected to everything else in the universe.

Please share your thoughts and add to the list.

Masturbation....

No, I'm serious...

Cool. That's one way. 😆 😱

Sense of humor, yes.

Getting high

1. hiking (Estes park trails, up highway 36 from boulder, past Roosevelt national park)
2. sushi (4 Sake, 4 Unagi, 1 dragon roll, 1 ikura, and a small bottle of cold genshu sake)
3. chocolate (dark, preferabbly in pie form)
4. sex (not allowed to describe)
5. spooning (ditto)
6. sleep (on stomach, head turned left, left hand under pillow and head)

(this is a schedule, not a list. do these things in that order and you'll feel really good)

Happiness comes from the basic human joys of life, such as eating food, watching TV, jerking off, etc. It doesn't come from "thinking" or any of this philosophical shit. I don't need to make other people happy for myself to be happy. I mean, there are millions of kids starving in Africa. Do I care? Hmm...NO. If anything I'm actually happier when other people are suffering, such as whenever my father physically injures himself.

Thanks for your honesty, buddy. 🤘

Yes, really enjoying and appreciating the simple things in life also makes me (and I suppose other people also) happy. Also, being able to laugh at things. However, in my list above I don't think is 'philosophical shit' or merely "thinking" - we must also sometimes "think" and affirm ourselves of our and other's condition in life. On the other hand, we must be able to completely be mindfull of our actions, without thinking about them, emersing ourselves in the action.

What if it's pain - which is not an emotion - which is causing your suffering? It's hard to go through this 3-step process when you are experiencing excruciating pain.

Or an itchy rash, take your pick.

There's no answer for everything in life, some things you simply can't control, allthough you can lessen physical pain by a balanced state of mind. Also, some physical suffering and pain are created by the mind - psychosomatic. Itching and scratching yourself may signify emotional guilt over something, or some person having a haevy emotional bearing on your life. Most physical illnesses have their origin in the mind with it's emotions which manifest themselves physically. I've seen that in myself and other peoples life many times.

I concur with the PVS' compilation, but I would also like to add a margarita made from Sauza Conmemorativo Tequila, Cointreau, Presidente Brandy, sweet and sour mix and a splash of lime juice. Plus, I'll sub the sushi for some sashimi with plenty of wasabi to douse it with. Finally, I'd like to cue the sound of the ocean and the sight of the sunrise. Sunrise, felt like morning in my eyes.

There. There need be no more for a perfect life.

Real happiness is deep within...like deep within a women...

Do the women agree here, and the men?

A bubble bath, glass of wine and an awesome book

😂 Yeah, that works...

Yeah, $5 at checkout with a Cigna card. May through August, though I couldn't walk, wasn't too bad for me.
