Shadow appeared just behind the forest line, he fell forwards a bit, catching himself on a tree and looking up at his friends. He wasn’t sure what he was getting himself into, but he knew it had to be done. He turned and moved silently away from the group, retracing his steps to where they had met up.
Two mutant policemen stood, they raised their guns up to his chest. Shadow moved forwards slowly, putting his hands on his head. “It’s me…I…I need to see him…”

Shadow awoke several hours later, lying on a bed somewhere in the now deserted city. His talk with his father still fresh in his head. He rolled off the bed, throwing out both his hands to prevent his fall. He rolled over, onto his back and looked up at the ceiling, tears running down his face. It just wasn't fair...
"Eli paused you Jim," Karen said. "Anyways, I need to talk to you alone." Jim looked at her questionably.
"You trust me now?"
"Don't worry Eli, we will be in your site." Karen walked away from the others and Jim followed, not wanting that pause thing to happen again.
"You didn't answer my question." Jim said to her once they were away from the others.
"Funny, you seem to act like that Ryan I have heard of lately..." Karen said.
"Ryan! What, you don't think I'm your brother?!"
"I know my brother, I know that he wants the best for me, but shooting Zack and not just Shadow...that is not Jim, if you had just shot Shadow, I would understand..."
"I wanted you back safely, I felt like I should exchange mutants..."
"But I bet you heard the sirens, you knew we would run to the forest, and so would the MPs..." Karen looked away.
"Karen...."
"What?!" Karen looked into Jims' eyes angrily.
"Yes, we heard the sirens, we were going to help....but Zack came along and I shot him. I heard things in my head, a voice told me that the Mutant Police was coming as well, they can help..." It was Jims' turn to look away. "I don't remember very much, but I know I almost died...what if...what if me and this Ryan were combined..."
"Why do you think they would do that?" Karen asked.
"I don't know, they probably found Ryan, worse then me."
"Nice theory, but do you think you can be just Jim..."
"I have memories, not mine, I think they just did that. Besides haven't I been Jim mostly?" he said smiling. He rested his hands on Karens' shoulders and Karen looked at his hands with a worried look.
"Are you sure Ryan isn't hitting on me now..."
"I will try my best to control it." Jim said moving back one step. Karen smiled and he laughed.
~Because of the magic that is RPG time, Shadow's story is approx an hour ahead of everyone in the woods. We can meet up again when you come for supplies etc.~
Shadow sat up, he rubbed the tears away on his sleeve and walked to the door, flinging it open and heading through the building's various corridors to the main street. He looked up at the block of flats he had been left in, the nup and down the deserted street.
Sighing he walked along until he found a clothes store. He walked in and took what he liked off the shelves, throwing his old, bloodied clothes into the bin on the way out. He turned and walked back to the flat, he had been carried unconciously to the flat and was unsure of the way back to his friends.

Eli got nervous when he heard Jim laughing.
"Uh guys, how well do you know this Jim guy? I still don't think we can trust him. And now Karen's alone with him. Someone should go and look out for her."
