Im seventeen, and Im Catholic.
Ive always pretty much taken it for granted that Id wait until I was married to have sex.......Now Im not so sure.
Is it really a sin to have sex outside of marriage?

Ideally I'd say wait until you're 18, but this is reality... Don't feel guilty about feeling desires that are perfectly natural in a woman your age... You don't have to marry to enjoy a healthy sexual lifestyle. Try talking to your parents about this, they may suprise you... My advice would be take it slow, and above all be safe and use protection. Remember guys are pricks, and they really do want just one thing at that age, so choose wisely.

If you want to be a sinner do what sinners do. If your a christian which it sounds like you are, then dont ask anyone on here most obviously dont care about your soul. READ the BIBLE it is above your priests and the POPE. IT IS THE WORD OF GOD. IT is the only thing you need to follow. just because your popes may have made mistakes doesnt mean you should. I was a virgin till I was 21 then from then till I turned 27 I slept with many girls and I have to live with it now. It is a bad feeling I will always regret. I wish I was in your shoes to correct my horrible past. Remember although this is a so-called religeon site dont except the wolfs in sheeps clothing. when they are in hell and your in heaven you will be very greatful that Jesus died for your sins and His word is the only authority in right and wrong. Not some pervert on the internet.

😆 😆 😆 😆 😆

You're such a loser !

Yes, unfortunately...fornication is a sin.

Bad news for me. 🙁

"Sin" is just a word....

And every word only has as much power as you're willing to give it. 😉

So don't worry. Nothing is going to happen to you, no one is waiting to punish u, fornicate all u want.

For, the record, I am a guy at my age, and I think the fact that I made the thread shows that we dont just want sex without choosing wisely ourselves.....

I see... Thought this was started by a female, my bad. I never said I was smart, just good-looking.
I know I didn't care at that age, I just wanted to get laid... But you're right not all guys have that mentality.

I don't either.

Yay for the ten percent!

Fornication is a sin. I have no justification for my not caring, as before god none would count. *shrug*

Before others though, I just say that you don't actually need to be married to be in love and being in love counts more than a stupid legal procedure; that said, sex before love I dissaprove of because I honestly think I'd rather wait for someone I love (not nessecarily 'the right one'😉 then the hooker that is walking down my street.

Why?

Sorry, Debbiejoe for not responding to your post I didn't even know that you had a question for me.

Fornication is sexual intercourse without marriage between its participants. This perhaps includes petting, oral sex, and anything of a sexual nature. But not kissing.

Why is it a sin you ask?

Are you ready?

Because God said so.

But if you want me to elaborate I will oblige. (But just know that whatever God calls a sin is so simply because He said so. Remember He is the Lawgiver and Judge of all the universe (God supercedes all earthly Justices including the Supreme Court Justices).

Sex between a qualified couple: (i.e., a consenting/married man and a woman) is a covenant. A covenant is a solemn pact between at least two parties who each have a responsibility to maintain with respect to the other party. In several places in Scripture we see covenants ratified by blood (usually from a sacrificed animal). The shedding of blood or sprinkling of blood signified that the covenant was now in force and must be honored by the parties involved. Sometimes God required the parties to dip a finger in blood, sprinkle the blood on themselves, or apply some of the blood to something. Incidentally, have you heard of people here in our society making "blood covenants?"

How does this relate to sex?

In the Bible a virgin who has sex for the first time "normally" bleeds after her hymen is broken. This flow of blood is "meant" to ratify the covenant between her and her husband (not boyfriend, not lover, not sex-buddy, and not friend with benefits--but her husband). This is God's will concerning sex. It is an "eternal covenant" between a man and a woman. That is why sex should remain within the holy confines of marriage. You shouldn't be out giving yourself to just any man. Save yourself for your eternal mate so that he can cherish you forever. This is God's will and intent for two people who say that they love each other. If that person truly loves you then he/she will commit to marrying you before experiencing the beauty and holiness that sex is meant to signify and express between a man and a woman. The Bible says that a man should be "enraptured" with her love, and that her breasts should satisfy him at all times. Moreover, God instructs us to drink water from our "own" cistern, and running water from our "own" well. God the Father doesn't want us going from person to person, being in covenant with several people with regard to sex.

So that is why fornication is a sin.

Proverbs 5:15-20
15 Drink water from your own cistern,
And running water from your own well.
16 Should your fountains be dispersed abroad,
Streams of water in the streets?
17 Let them be only your own,
And not for strangers with you.
18 Let your fountain be blessed,
And rejoice with the wife of your youth .
19 As a loving deer and a graceful doe,
Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; And always be enraptured with her love.
20 For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman, and be embraced in the arms of a seductress?

1 Corinthians 6:13
13 Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body .

1 Corinthians 6:15-16
15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Shall I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a harlot? Certainly not! 16 Or do you not know that he who is joined to a harlot is one body with her? For “the two,” He says, “shall become one flesh.”

1 Corinthians 6:18
18 Flee sexual immorality . Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body.

1 Corinthians 7:1-2
1 Now concerning the things of which you wrote to me:
It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 2 Nevertheless, because of sexual immorality, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own husband.

Hebrews 13:4
4 Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled [i.e., sexual intercourse between a husband and wife is is holy and pure]; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge.

1 Thessalonians 4:3
3 For this is the will of God, your sanctification : that you should abstain from sexual immorality ;

JIA do you wear glasses or contacts?

Sex should be the "physical" expression of how a husband and wife feel about each other. It should demonstrate the love that the two have and feel deeply for each other. Sex is but one of the manifestations of the love that a husband and wife feel in their heart for each other. It should not be taken for granted, devalued, trivialized, or cheapened. Hollywood portrays sex as just some cheap, momentary thrill (or fling) between a man and a woman (no commitment, no marriage, and in many cases no love for each other). Lust is lust and love is love. What many people call love is really lust. Love is deeper and moored in unshakeable determination to stay with the one that you love no matter what. Read the Song of Solomon, this Book of the Bible is like a long love letter from Solomon to his bride this should illustrate love in action.
