would you go to heaven if you committed suicide?

My 15 year old cousin committed suicide. He was a very good person all of his life, sweet, selfless, the kind of person people want to be like. He loved to make people laugh and he was very loving and protective of his family. He was awesome. He suffered from depression though and had a moment of weakness that couldn't be turned back from. I do not believe that one mistake, even one so extreme would forever damn him to hell when he was in all fact a very good person.

I believe God judges us on the things we do in life and takes into account who we are as well as why we made certain choices. Jesus died to pay the price of our sins...all of our sins, even suicide and murder. Why should we go straight to hell when Christ paid the price already for our sin? Wouldn't His sacrafice give suicides some kind of redemption as well?

Of course I believe in the Final Judgement. I believe that when we die we go somewhere called Paradise or Spirit Prison to await the final judgement when we will be fairly judged and placed where we will go for all eternity. But don't get me wrong, Spirit Prison isn't like prison here. It's where you go and are taught the truths taht you did not know here and are given the opportunity to accept them or to deny them, just as you are here. And that too is taken into account in the Final Judgement.

So the phrase, "Nothing is permenant until you are dead." isn's a true statement in my eyes.

I'm sorry if anyone disagrees, but it gives me hope, even if you do think it's stupid. It's not stupid to me...and I'm not asking you to believe me. I'm just answering the question with all the details that are available to me...as I see them.

But kella, energy cannot be distroyed, and if there is no hell, then we all return back to where we came from....even the scripture says "The spirit returns to god that gave it.".....And what would be a purpose of a judgment from a higher being???....There would be no purpose. If a higher being condemned, then it would be at our same level of thinking.....Not a higher being at all.

I'll have to Pm you with my reply to that Deb. I am too tired to expalin at this moment...and in here. You are correct, but I didn't say everything about my beliefs of the afterlife...that would have taken a really really long time.

Trust me, I'll explain.

Sure, ok. 🙂

no it's a terrible sin.which is y i m against suicide bombers

Suicide is the worst possible sin a Catholic can commit. Its pretty much a one-way ticket to hell.

Says me and my religion.
My belief, and the Catholic-Christian religion have all their minds to back it up. I'm not trying to make anyone believe that, I'm just stating MY own religious beliefs, just like everyone else is with their "God Is Not Real" crap.

I'm a Christian, and I don't back that up. I believe God judges the heart. He determines mans eternity, not you nor I. It isn't my place to say that if someone commits suicide that it means they are any more condemned to hell than me or anyone else who sins and doesn't remember to say, "Lord, forgive me for _____." It is no different. Sometimes we mess up and don't remember to ask forgiveness for each of the many sins we commit. I know I mess up and I know God knows my heart and forgives me. I don't sin intentionally and I don't like to sin. I hate when I do, but it isn't necessary to create a checklist and mark off each time I sin and ask forgiveness. God is bigger than that. When a person commits suicide, he might die without having time to ask for forgiveness, but that doesn't mean he can't be forgiven. God knows the whole story, the parts we don't. He knows what that person was going through and dealing with, He knows whether or not they were truly saved, after all He did the saving in the first place.

Well.....there is only one way to find our for sure.....

There is no hell......dammit!

Suicide - Smoking

I'm wondering. Suicide is the deliberate act of killing yourself. So, if someone deliberately smokes and gets cancer then consequently dies from it is that suicide? And if so will they be not allowed in to heaven? As suicide makes your passage to heaven void.
Also if you were to jump out of an aeroplane trying to commit suicide and were hit by another plain on the way down which killed you, would that be suicide?
Damo.

You are assuming that you go to heaven after you die. What if there is no heaven or hell?

If it were true that people go to hell when they smoke, then we would ALL go to hell. Everyone does something that will end their life, for example; eating bad foods will eventually kill you. Drinking, smoking, bad eating habits, not exercising, depression, etc. Anything can kill you, so no I do not think smoking is suicide, it is an addiction. About the plane issue, their main idea was to kill themselves, so if another plane hit them it would not matter. They still committed suicide. However, I do not believe people who committ suicide go to hell, it depends on God to judge whoever goes to Heaven or Hell. It is NOT our judgement to make.

There is no smoking in Heaven. You can't smile all the time with a cigy in your mouth, it clashes with the perpetual love fest. Smokin' in Hell is encouraged... 😮‍💨

i think lack of faith make you do worse ...

It is not necessary to believe...
People who had no faith are known to do wonderful things, and people with a lot of faith have known to do atrocities.

It all depends on an individual, no?

Not really. Suicide is a sin, so no.

Not really - there has never been any real statistical data that supports the concept that crime or whatever is less common in periods of high faith then in periods of not so high faith.

After all history has large swathes of vilance and atrocity linked to Christianity, Islam and others. Both official and not so. lil' B. is right:

It is not necessary to believe...

Faith is no more assurance of goodness or badness then atheism. It is the person in question.

if religion tell us that suicide is a sin ,and person commet suicide he surely dont belive in his religion and the punishment for this crime .

I don't believe the Bible said you go to hell if you commit suicide.

So far as we can tell from Scripture, the present hell, is somewhere in the heart of the earth itself. It is also called 'the pit' (Isa. 14:9, 15: Ezek. 32:18-21) and 'the abyss' (Rev. 9:2). . .
The writers certainly themselves believed hell to be real and geographically 'beneath' the earth's surface. . .
To say this is not scientific is to assume science knows much more about the earth's interior than is actually the case. The great 'pit' [hell] would only need to be about 100 miles or less in diameter to contain, with much room to spare, all the forty billion or so people who have ever lived, assuming their 'spiritual' bodies are the same size as their physical bodies."

Now do we really believe the this "Hell" is in the middle of the Earth??
