Okay, update because the two new videos are up!
Spider Ball: In-game footage of Spider Ball usage, in that same outdoor area on Elysia. It looks like the same involved, well-made Spider Ball puzzle play of the original Prime.
AURORA: Far more interesting. This takes the form of a data log entry, concerning AURORA Unit. 20 years prior to the game, a team of Galactic Federation scientists announced the birth of an organic supercomputer, named AURORA. Since that time, thousands of AURORAs have been produced, used for business, government, and military tasks. They are given male, female, or gender-neutral personas, depending on the needs and desires of the staff of their facility. A network links all existing AURORAs, allowing them access to an immense database.
The big thing here is what AURORAs are. If you haven't figured it out... Mother Brain was the first AURORA. The video shows several things, among them a schematic of Mother Brain's room in Tourian. It can be fairly safely assumed that the Mother Brain in Super Metroid is, in fact, the AURORA Unit that the Space Pirates are threatening in Corruption.
On another note, this information, combined with the official E-Manga, places Samus' age during the events of Corruption at 24.
I'll have to go watch those videos, and the AURORA information is quite interesting I think, especially about Mother Brain and Super Metroid.
I think it's great to know Samus' age finally, I always assumed she would end up to be in her late 20's, and by Fusion early 30's, but a confirmation is even better.
One thing I never figured out, since I never liked the Original Metroid for NES for some reason, but: Is there TWO Mother Brains, or one? If we have a confirmation.
The way I see it is:
The Chozo create the Mother Brain. (Official E-Manga, Chapter 2)
The Federation sees how useful it is, and makes a deal with the Chozo to copy the Mother Brain and mass produce it. These copies are the thousands of AURORAs that are installed in all major businesses, government buildings, and military installations.
At some point, the Mother Brain decides that the Space Pirates can further her own goals, and helps them to take Zebes from the Chozo.
Samus is contracted by the Federation to remove the Pirate threat from Zebes, and destroy the Mother Brain. She does so. (Metroid/Zero Mission)
(Prime Arc)
(Metroid II)
Samus follows Ridley and the stolen infant Metroid back to Zebes, and finds that the Space Pirates have rebuilt their base, including a new room for what appears to be the Mother Brain. (Super Metroid)
Before, it was assumed that the Pirates cloned the Mother Brain like they did with Ridley and Kraid, albiet with extreme genetic modifications. Now, it seems possible that the second "Mother Brain" was actually a stolen AURORA Unit, and possibly corrupted by Phazon to cause the changes.

Alright, I see, that makes sense.
I've never seen this E-Manga, or had any clue Metroid had one, that's a new finding for my day as well.
Yeah, it's pretty cool, but I was wondering myself how Ridley kept popping up in all his forms, I suppose the Phazon and cloning modifications have to do with that also?
Oh, and in the Retrospective, they kept saying, chronologically mind you, that Super is the 6th game. The only conclusion I have is that officially they count Metroid, AND Zero Mission? I doubt the Pinball is chronological.

As for Pinball, even if it were chronological, it would be in the same place as the first Metroid Prime (since it has the exact same levels, bosses, and what not).
E-Manga translated. Since it's animated, I've found the best way to get the full effect is to click through the manga and then read the translation, page by page. Or, simply read the translation.
Ridley is an interesting case. In Prime 1, he was, of course, Meta-Ridley, which seems to indicate that it's the same Ridley, except cybernetically enhanced to combat his injuries. This same Ridley obviously returns, still as "Meta"-Ridley, in Corruption.
Some people think that Meta-Ridley is a shell, and that Ridley is slowly regrowing inside. Others think there won't be enough left of Meta-Ridley after Corruption to work with, and the Pirates will grow a new clone for Super Metroid.
As for the chronology...
Metroid/Zero Mission
Metroid Prime/Pinball
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Metroid Prime 2: Echoes
Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
Metroid II: Return of Samus
Super Metroid
Metroid Fusion
Seems to me it's actually 7th chronologically, unless we don't want to include Hunters. And Pinball is a stylized retelling of Prime, of course.
Ohhh alright I see, well that explains the constant Ridleys, now any idea about Ridley in Zero and Fusion?
Oh, here I thought Pinball was just like Mario Pinball and Sonic Spinball, just a pinball game made for fun.
I saw people on gamefaqs counting Hunters though, so I'm not sure. I don't think a Metroid game should be mainly good for multi player only, so that's why I skipped it. Plus the 1st person looks really shotty and bad on DS IMO.
Did Nintendo say if Prime 3's ending, will lead right into 2, like Super into Fusion?

Aside from that, something else just occurred to me. Anyone think it's possible that the rogue Security Robot from Fusion could also be an Aurora unit? It was also a giant brain (or at least it appeared to be after beating it)... Or were the Auroras simply meant to be super-computers to manage databases, not hunting down intruders?
AURORAs seem to be pretty stationary and intended for managing data, so I more think one would be directing the Security Robots, not actually be one.
As for the Metroid II question, it's possible the war in Corruption with the Space Pirates and Dark Samus will convince the Federation that Metroids are too dangerous to be allowed to exist, which would lead to them contracting Samus to go to SR388 to eradicate them.

Well noticed the first time I watched the video.Though I must say, I am impressed they even added in the pipes and vents in the background. It was an impressive final reveal.
I know, that's about the best use of all the fancy graphical updates they slap onto games these days, that I've seen in a while.
I wonder what other in-game videos will show other Super Metroid/Zero/Metroid areas/bosses.
