I wouldnt ; with an mp3 player I could transfer it straight in there without feeling the neccesity of buying a cumbersome CD.

Its that what happens.0

And what irks me is that most of the people that are doing it are in an economic position to purchase the product and in a duty-bound position to prevent it.

Yeah, that's what most people do. And unless they bought the songs legally online, it's stealing.

Cumbersome CD? Explain to me how a CD is cumbersome. Please.

I'm...I'm just confused now. I think the human race just hit new lows of laziness.

Obviolsy when comparing it to software.

I'm still failing to see how or why a CD is cumbersome.

So you buy it, put it on comp, put the cd in the rack and put the songs on your MP3 player. No need for the "cumbersome" CD and yet, no stealing.

A bought legally purchased CD is designed to containt the information it has been made to contain and it has been customised to remain like that without alterations.

Other CDs that fit inthe CD burner of computers are allowed to be customized differently as per the likes and specifications of the person who owns the 'homemade' CD. Altough minimal the space, a person who downloads hundreds of songs illegally actually feels the difference.

Instead of having a stack of 500 CDs, they would have a stack of 100. Therfore software allows you to do this op.

Most people can always opt to Buy a CD legally, transfer it to their comp, and re-sell it immediatly in Internet or by means of hand. The next user will copy the information to his hardware and re-sell the CD.

Ever thought that the 2nd hand CDs you bought may have passed throgh 7 different pairs of hands ?

First paragraph: You're saying that bought CD's can't be have the music ripped from it and put onto comp? False, if so. I do that with every CD I've ever bought.

Not sure what you're getting at with your second part. Be a bit clearer please, I don't wish to reply wrongly.

meh, I like owning the CD cases

DONT try answer so hastily. Take your time FFS.

I only like that if I have the full CD. And sometimes I don't like the full CD.

Read properly yourself. I asked you, I didn't tell.

Second, I asked you to clarify what you were saying in that entire post.

What's your point?

A CD is cumbersome, when comparing it to software (memory stick). - period.

Hahaha, unbelievable. So you're saying one pro-downloading argument is "CDs take up space"? More or less?

Yeah, so buy it, put it on comp and store it. Unless you live in a matchbox collecting CDs won't matter. Argue all the points you want, it won't prove downloading to be justified.

-AC

I never set out to justify downloading. Do you like plasticene ?

Just concede that a CD is cumbersome vs a memory stick and we leave it at that, ok thanks.

John Parr - St. Elmo' s Fire (Man In Motion)
Jefferson Starship - We Built This City
Van Halen - Jump
Green Day - Good Riddance

Ceterum censeo OTF esse delendam.

His point is that a store bought CD can't have songs added to them, or taken away completely. You're stuck with every track from the CD whether you like it or not, whereas someone who burns their own CDs have only the songs they like on there.

Not everyone likes every track on a band's CD so when you can mix and match you save space since there are W total tracks available minus X amount of tracks you don't like plus Y amount of total songs you like equals Z fewer amount of CDs needed to be burnt.

No it's not cumbersome VS a memory stick, it's bigger, it's not cumbersome. It's cumbersome if you're lazy and anal.

Yeah I got his point, it's been countered by me and some others (but mostly me) many, many times over many threads. So buy the songs off iTunes, buy the singles cheaply on amazon. No excuse to download and try as you might, you'll never find one.

Yeah, but minus the desperate attempt at justification, that's all for nought. If you like a couple songs, buy the singles or buy the songs off iTunes or another legal paying download provider.

My argument is that it needs to be paid for and there is no excuse for stealing, and there's not.

Bottom line: People are lazy and want everything for free. Tough shit, that's not how it works. You want someone's work? You pay for it. The easier companies and corporations make it to download legally while paying, the more excuses lazy idiots come up with.

No excuse for illegal downloading.

No. You are wrong. Its called a PRACTICAL

Once again, who is talking about illegal downloading ? Only you
have started the term 'thieving' and 'illegal' into this thread and you want to keep rummaging it down other people's throats.

Ken has understood my point perfectly as you did; you are just too anal to admit it.

I will make a poll to decide the outcome. I shall call it CD player VS Mp3 player. The game is simple : You enter the arena with a CD player and I will enter it on my blazing chariot MP3 player.

The one with most votes wins.

Why are you preaching to me about buying off of iTunes and shit? All I said was "someone who burns his own CDs". I never once mentioned illegal downloading in my post. 😕
