π genius... and i knew diana wanted clark... thats one of the most interesting parts of their relationship... see, imo, clark suits lois, but kal, the kryptonian part of him, must realise that diana is a more suitable woman given his origins and powers...

I don't think the writers are making Lana to be sympathetic. I think they are making it so the audience can't stand her. This is probably because they have worked so hard at making Clark and Lana appear to be soul-mates that they have to find a way show that they really aren't right for each other and that theirs a good reason why his future is with lois and not lana. It almost appears like Lois is clarks second choice to lana which is not true considering Lana never gets over Clark. She even names her son Clark.
I agree... its like they went too far and need to claw their way back to let him be with lois...

I don't think they should focus on Clark and Lois flirting. I am pretty much against that for now. It is too early. Lois's introduction into the show in my opinion was too early and the best thing they could and should do is keep it neutral. Both Clark and Lois have an very long way to go to coming close to the people they are meant to be nearly 7 to nine years later. Clark is an idiot and Lois just isn't there. One of the best parts about Lois Lane in most sp universes is the biting relationship between them that supposedly comes natural and isn't seeded in some past romance (at first).
So many plots on the show are moving so fast with so little develpement in the parts of the characters that count so now I am worried. π
--new by the way so no shark attacks-- π
No attacks... you made a decent point... the show itself doesnt seem to care about the superman mythos though, so i wouldnt be surprised if he and lois got together...

Lana's character of unrequited love female (the one that got away) because she was misunderstood (or simply never trusted) has been done into the ground. And though I don't think her character will drop off the show anytime soon I think the writers made it pretty clear during the hypnotic girlfriend episode that Clark wasn't going to get her back.I would like to vote Clark Kent as the most annoying character
at least where Lana is concerned. I don't have oodles of love for Lana but Clark is a liar and a needless one at that. He said he loved her but his actions speak against that to no end. Clohe (sp) knows Pete knows Lionel knows his parents know and he can't bring himself to just be honest with the person he supposedly loves and who over time has been a decent friend....He is an idiot not only in romance and every episode it shows. He gets my vote.
The meteor shower killed her family, and the destruction of krypton heralded said shower... lana, to me, doesnt have the intelligence to distinguish between the two...
and besides, after the 'what would happen if he told lana' episode, he doesnt want her to die... he can lie, because he has to if he wants to protect her...

I disagree. Truth is Lana has been an awful friend on the show and I really can't blame Clark. Shes hot but shes really two-faced also. Alica from season 4 was more likable and she was a nutcase. Shes been saved by clark dozens of times and on countless occasions shes turned her back on him with someone else. Truth is I think the turn the show is going is good because I suspect the majority of people watching may not like Clarks decision, but they hate Lana'a reaction even more.
I agree completely...
lana to me is just really ungrateful... she knows he's been there for her before, yet she still treats him worse than he'd ever deserve...
heroes lie all the time to protect the people they love... its called the greater good... π¬
