Cotto is indeed a harder puncher and all but mayweather is hands down a better all round boxer. He has got more boxing skills than cotto and if he can avoid getting rocked by big shots he can very likely take the fight on points IMO. The fight versus ricky hatton really showed the class
of Mayweather being able to fight out of his normal style and still win the fight by ko

I guess the same couldve been said about Shane Mosley. Not only was Cotto able to adapt to Mosley's speed but came out on top. Im sure Cotto can adapt to Mayweather too. I guess we'll never know.

Well really we may neva know. Its actually not smart to argue about who wins in boxing bcuz whatever happens ind ring is really unpredicatble. No matter the analysis we give out here we wont know who wins till they fight

Do you understand the kind of beating Cotto would have handed Hatton if they had fought? As impressive as Floyd's win over Ricky was, Cotto would have dominited every second of the fight got him out of there in 6 rounds.

Yeah Cotto would have destroyed hatton because of his superior punching power and what not but its not just mayweathers beating of hatton that was impressive, its the way he beat him. He went totally out of his style, he didnt throw many jabs decided to brawl with ricky on the inside.
I heard hatton before the fight say dat if floyd tried to go punch 4 punch wit im he'd(floyd) get eaten. On the contrary instead of runing around and trying to avoid ricky throughout the fight floyd fought on the inside and basically beat ricky at his own game

predictions...personally i'll say hopkins will be his usual boring self and calzaghe will step up and tear him a new one

My feeling exactly. Hopkins shouldve stayed retired.

Hopkins' dirty tactics and mind games for the win. Look for Zaghe's punch count to drop dramatically in this fight and bear in mind that B-Hop is 5-0 against southpaws.

i personally think the fight was a poor choice by calzaghe...he's proving nothing by stepping up and fighting an old man like hopkins...he should have stayed in his division and finished off the the likes of Taylor and Pavlik and then retired

Tonight's Cotto-vs-Gomez(from The Contender) for the title. Anybody think Gomez has a chance? I doubt it very much.

Cotto has a very small chance. It would have to look at first round of the fight to see how it is going to turn out.

Damn that wasnt a fight, it was a sparring secion. Cotto was toying with him the whole time. Anonio Margarito should be a better fight.

It will be a better fight, but I think Cotto will outbox him to a unanimous decision.

Cotto vs gomez was ridiculously easy but margarito might cause some trouble and maybe evn an upset who knows?
