Would love to see a Mayweather/Mosley fight. I think Shane is the only man right now who can defeat Mayweather. Mosley's defense worries me, but he can take a punch. I think Mayweather will have trouble with Manny's style, like he had with Zab Judah, Judah actually knocked Mayweather down, but we know how Zab gets. Mayweather over Pac in a decision.

Mosley would have to KO Mayweather...Infact anyone who does beat Mayweather will have to KO him because if his accuracy against Marquez is anything to go by then there isn't anyone he can't outpoint.

Watch the KO punch @ around 4:36

Cotto has to watch out from that feint right jab.

I think Cotto has a better head movement than that. Anybody got a better head movement than that.

I dont think so. The style we saw on Saturday is usually displayed when floyd knows he can hit the target. He tends to slow down on fighting with counters heavily if the opponent has speed as well. Though Shane is not as fast as he used to be he still has enough speed and butter behind his punches to keep floyd out that comfort zone.

Pac-Man has proven the critics wrong time and again.
We will see if Cotto can bring him down.

Manny has too much heart.. he's willing to face any opponent in any of the divisions he's won.
And his humility is what makes his countrymen proud of him.. he's the top dog in boxing today, but he still is down-to-earth.

I'm absolutely positive that Manny has been studying Cotto's style, and by now should have the proper defense and stamina to keep up with him.

* very true...

With his accuracy there isn't really a target he can't hit. He just gets more time with the slower fighters and so does it more often.

Did you see the speed of his jabs? Even in the 12th round they were lightning fast. It was an extremely impressive display of speed and endurance. Couple that with his reaction time and he moves out the way of most punches too.

I don't think Mosley has what it takes to KO Mayweather and certainly not what it takes to outpoint him.

Mosley is signing his own death warrant.. the death of his career.

He backed out from Mayweather in 2 separate occasions.. it's obvious that he only wants the money now, not the glory.

He's probably looking for one big, final pay day. Mayweather, Pac-Man draw the most money these days.

Holy Sh!t!!! I just watched the Castillo vs Mayweather fight, How did Mayweather win that???? Castillo got robbed.

Not sure about the ko, we never really see floyd take too many direct shots though he took a few with judah. Shane has more than above average speed. I would wager shane has what it takes to hit him clean. Either way hes a hell of a bigger problem for floyd than Marquez could be.

What two. I know Shane offered him a fight before he met up for the super fight with De la Hoya but Floyd turned him down.

Mayorga is transitioning to MMA. Hope he does well, cuz we need more strikers with boxing backgrounds, and his would be on a higher caliber. Once he gets the basics down, I see him as a threat.

Barely a day after 47-year-old NFL legend Herschel Walker announced he had signed a multi-fight deal with the Strikeforce mixed martial arts promotion, Nicaraguan boxer and two-time world champion Ricardo Mayorga has said he is quitting boxing - for the time being - to try MMA at the age of 35.

Mayorga, who is embroiled in a contract dispute with Don King, believes the emerging sport to be "easier than boxing in that you can use your legs to kick your opponent."

"The idea of using smaller gloves also has me very anxious to try it," said the fighter to reporters.

Mayorga says he would like to return to the boxing ring once he has finished with his legal fight, but says he's been eyeing mixed martial arts for some time.

"For many years, I have wanted to try MMA. Now I hope to get my opportunity.

Mayorga will go through a crash course in ground-fighting before signing any contracts.

Your shitting me

I'd like to see him at 155. Imagine Mayorga vs Sherk. I'm positive that with a good takedown defense, Mayorga would KO Sherk.

My feelings exactly (unless u meant it in a good way). I wouldnt mind him hyping a fight. He does that better than anybody.

Mayorga already signed. I'm hoping for a bright future, even at 35 I think he can shake up MMA.

Ricardo Mayorga Talks About Future In MMA, Signing With Shine Fights
· Article author: Jesse Denis. Posted on 09/23 at 01:21 PM

Shine Fight Promotions recently confirmed the reported mixed martial arts signing of boxing legend Ricardo 'el Matador' Mayorga. Mayorga, a former WBA/WBC welterweight champion and former WBC junior middleweight champion, recently told MMA Spot’s Jesse Denis, "I'm anxious. I want to fight. I'm excited about fighting for Shine, I'm just waiting for Don King's letter of release."

'El Matador' is known for being one of Boxing's most polarizing figures, he was even dubbed "the craziest man in boxing" by Ring Magazine in 2003. Having amassed a record of 28 wins (22 via knockout), 7 losses, and 1 draw, Mayorga looks to begin a new career in MMA; using his world-class boxing as a springboard to success. He brings with him powerful hands, and experience against some of the best boxers in the world; Vernon Forrest, Felix Trinidad, Cory Spinks, Fernando Vargas, Shane Moseley, and Oscar De La Hoya, to name a few.

When asked as to what his motivation to switch sports was, Ricardo gave a very straight forward answer; "I always enjoyed fighting in the streets, but I became a professional so I had to stop… I was always seen a very violent, aggressive person in the ring, and now I'm going to take my aggression into the cage."

Shine Fights co-founder Devin Price believes Mayorga is making a good choice, "We feel that out of every boxer, Ricardo is the one who could really make the transition (into MMA)."

Shine Fights, coming off a successful showing at "Shine Fights 2: ATT vs The World," which took place in Miami, are proud of their latest acquisition, stating "….the first true boxing champion coming into the sport of MMA in his prime… We feel that signing Ricardo is a major step in that direction." Shine is looking to promote Mayorga's first match in late February or early March, once again in Miami. "we like the Miami market," Price declared, "We're looking to do the Mayorga fight in Miami as well."

Mayorga says that his goals for his MMA career are simple; "A title." Price expanded on this later, "When we first approached him, the first thing he said was, ‘I want to fight a champion, a top level fighter.’ We're going to make that happen."

Ricardo Mayorga and Devin Price talk separately about the prospects of the boxing champion’s foray into mixed martial arts:

Ever wonder why that is? Because he can get out of the way far faster than most people can punch...Especially someone who's just "above average".

I said shane was more than above average 😛

Still...You'd need to be lightning quick to hit him. Hence the reason he's never really been badly damaged in a fight. I agree that some of the fights that have went the distance he's been extremely fortunate to get the decision. Happens all the time unfortunately. Mosley doesn't have what it takes to beat Mayweather though. He's getting over the hill too.

Noone wants the fight anyway. Pacquiao will get past Cotto and the only fight that can happen after that is Mayweather vs Pacquiao. Nothing else will get the kind of financial backing that fight will.

I personally don't like Mayweather's boxing style (It's the most boring thing to watch) but I can't deny that he executes that style to devastating effect. He's one of the best defensive and counter fighters ever. I think the only type of fighters who are capable of beating him are those who could overwhelm his defence in the early round with sheer strength and numbers of punches or someone with an unorthodox fast style.

A lot of people don't like him for his attitude and arrogance but it's just showboating to garner interest in his fights. Without it noone would give a shit about his fights regardless of his record because he's a boring fighter.

Mosley is just looking for a pay day and knows that Mayweather would give him it. He doesn't deserve the fight though.

If Pacquiao beats Cotto then he should get the fight as he'll have done something Mosley couldn't and he'll have done it while being a far smaller fighter.

If he doesn't then those Cotto should get the fight.

I don't see Floyd fighting either Mosley or Pacquiao.
He has a tendency to 'duck' on the top dogs.. he wants to retain that undefeated streak as long as possible.

He'll probably fight Cotto some day, albeit Cotto is too slow for him.
