Deep down we're all the same. Self preservation. Some like to think they are different, but they aren't. One thing I have learned about people and life is this: In the end, when the chips are down, when your back is against the wall, there will be two people there for you. You and God (whether or not you believe in him, he will be there for you). Everyone else you meet, with the exception of a few close family members, maybe a lifelong friend or two, is fleeting.
So by "two people" you mean yourself, an abstract concept, some family and possibly a couple of family-like friends.
my uncle once told me when i walked out on him and his company.
" Let me tell you : in life no one cares about you very few ppl will stay with you, your mother and brother are the only ppl who care about you.
your friends arent goin to be there for you once your money runs out and the good times are gone they will leave right along with your money.
you can end up a bum and they wont care and the only one that will is your family.. i'll be honest with you i may be your uncle but it only goes so far, i've given you a chance and done what i could. if you end up on the streets i dont care your not my son, your mom will but i wont.
plus other stuff more to do with my job, principles and compromising and racial slurs toward MA code..
