I'm working on something that's probably going to take forever to finish, but if I do right it's going to be so epic.

I think it's good when we take these imposed breaks from sex, so we know that our relationship is one based not solely sexual in nature.

Well even if our relationship is not based solely on sex, it still comprises a major part of it.

You also often call your sexual partner your "friend"...which to me implies at least to some degree a lack of emotional connection.

I call him a friend because he is a friend, which to me would actually imply an emotional connection rather than merely a sexual connection...but that's just me.

I am just very lazy academically, especially compared to him. I should ask him. Since about June.
