She has Stage 3 Hydrocephalus, this requires shunts installed on her scalp that drain excess fluid from her brain. The drainage line was too tight and we were told it was in danger of snapping in half.
The surgery went great, and the surgeon told us that the line had already separated itself, so it was a good thing we did the surgery when we did. It wasn't in much danger of harming her, however, since around the drainage line it had calcified and created an organic tunnel for the fluid to drain.
