Something else, I agree with EL_NINO. Even if you are the best team in the world playing against the worst, if you create more opportunities than the other time and the other team manages to win then it's because the other team had the strenght to endure constant attacking but continued on it's effort to win and therefore accomplished its mision. And as he said, you don't win a world cup by playing better than the other one.

Why is it so hard for you people to grasp? Nobody is arguing about effort, we're discussing if winning means you're the better team.

It doesn't. If Iran got whooped by Argentina all over the pitch and then Iran scored a lucky tap in to win 1-0, would that mean Iran are better than Argentina? No it wouldn't.

Like I said, Greece won the European Cup, they're not the best team in Europe though.

I think Argentina are going to cream Mexico, but Mexico haven't exactly done bad for themselves.

I like Mexico, but they only have one real world class player, Marquez.

The only team I think that can stop Argentina are Brazil, but only if Carlos A.P. lets them play to their strengths, and gives Juninho the midfield control rather than Ze Roberto, and starts Robinho alongside either Adriano and Ronaldo (I think the catalyst for Brazil's success against Japan was not playing the two big guys together, well that and the fact that Japan were stupid enough to go a goal ahead of a team so notoriously attack-minded as Brazil so early on). And Gilberto Silva is so much better than Emerson.

Woah, Ronaldo's back! That was quite a redemption! He played terrible in the other games, but looked a totally different player against Japan. Before the tournament, I expected him to come out blazing, but I guess it takes a couple of games to get into his stride. Good stuff. Also, I absolutely love watching Robinho on the ball. He's growing into a really incredible player.

As for the second round, I think England will get through. I'm expecting them to put on a really good show against Ecuador, I can feel it in my left testicle. They're gonna turn heads for sure!

There are some great games lined up...Portugal - Holland has goals all over it, and Brazil - Ghana is also gonna be excellent. Yipee.

Japan lost so convincingly because they lost their 2 banks of 4 defending, in the first half they sat back and held their chape well, closed down the ball... in the second half that just didnt happen.

Brazil probably would've won anyway, but it wouldnt have been so convincing imo
