Why do we die?

Started by DarkRaven5 pages

Thank you for the compliment, but I AM NOT CRAZY. Believe me when I say that immortality is very possible..... but I mean yeah in a way you are right about having to go on but you can go on without dying. When you've got everything that you may possibly want, why would you want to die? Would'nt you want to see the things that mortals are going to do next? There's always that one question: How and why do people come up with these ideas of survival? Wouldn't you want to know the answer? Immortality could answer any question of life and it's mysteries.

"Why are our bodies designed to grow old, why do we age?" is perhaps a better question.

Why do we die? I believe that we die because we as humans lose the will to live. why do you think that we die?

Because if we didn't die the world would be massively over populated and the world would no longer be sustainable. We wouldn't be able to make enough food for the whole population.

true but as you have read not everyone would like to live forever people get old they lose their will to live. Some people say " why would you want to live forever if all the people you'd meet would eventually die" therefore not many people would want to live..... eveything good requires a sacrifice. who knows maybe being immortal would not allow you to reproduce.

Immortality would suck. I would hate to live forever I would get so bored.

It would get boring wouldn't it.....And I for one do not like to be bored!

Maybe the reincarnation thing is true....always new lives to try new things not remembered.

Hell yeah there is only so much you can do like. As well as humans not being able to make enough food to feed the huge amounts of people there would be if we didn't die.. we also don't have the capability's to cure things like cancer or malaria (which kills the most people).

If I was immortal I would die of bordom.. 😛

We die because as we grow older our physical bodies begin to deteriorate and eventually contract life destroying diseases... or our bodies simply give out.

That's the scientific explanation. I doubt you would be satisfied with my philisophical explanation.

In order to find the true answer to this then man must first discover the true meaning of life; you know the big one!

AND I HAVE THE ANSWER!
42

In all seriousness, I know this isn't the Religion forum but one must realize that there has to be a purpose...
I think that each and everyone has a different answer to the meaning of life.

Mine so far what I have worked out is quite ridiculously simple:

It is...

I'm sure many and most of you understand the power of those words as it is such a heavy thing to live, to exist is something that is ours given to us by whatever or whoever you believe in = even if you believe in nothing, i.e; an atheast.

Our lives shouldn't be wasted in finding the question as to why it is...
Life is life and to waste your time pondering it is waste on a devastating scale.

I mean no insult to atheasts (Not sure I'm spelling that right) but if you believe in death being nothing then every second should be spent enjoying it.

Life is Death, death is Life: it will always be and will never change; all things return to the Earth, someday or another and depending on your belief your body is just flesh left behind.

I myself am a devout Christian with unwavering faith, I know that this may sound foolishly stupid at an attempt of heroism but I do not fear death; nor do I welcome it...

My day will come when it comes and nothing and no one on this Earth can change what will happen as written by God's law: to him our future is already our past...

Death can be avoided

Even if we could live forever, that would only last another 5 billion years or so. After that the Sun will explode into a planetary nebula and our galaxy will start over again. Hopefully in 5 billion years, humans will have found a way to go to a different planet in a different galaxy, otherwise we will all be wiped out. Oh and DarkRaven...you are crazy. 😄

I'm not crazy and I do think that death can be avoidable... it is possible you just have to actually believe that it is.....

There is an answer to why in all the religions, whichever you choose to believe is your choice or you can make up your own theory, the two i know are only the story of "The Garden of Eden" starring adam and eve and the story about "Pandora's Box" from Greek... legend...

We all believe in different things maybe some of us believe in the more extreme and have bigger fantasies than ohters. Thanks

How interesting do you think the lives of the people around you and the answer to those questions would be after lets say 500 hundred years? You would be bored, everything you would have known would have vanished replaced by new things that would have been destroyed as well, now double that. Entire contintens would have changed country's would have been destroyed borders would have been removed and all in all nothing has changed with a thousand years earlier yet everything looks different. Do that x 10 and you would still be bored you would still see the same thing happening over and over again and nothing would change.

Would you be interested in battles now, you would go to see them, would you still do that in 10.000 years when they would still look the same and do the same with the same affect? If you would live for ever you would probably stop caring about everything around you because it will just eventually die and you would lose it again, life would be boring and empty and learning new things would be worthless because before you know it what you have learned would be absolete.

in fact I would dare to bet that after only a 1000 years you would be begging whatever deity you believe in to kill you, begging for release. After 2.000 years you would probably be crazy and 79 million suicide attemps later you might just drop on the floor unable to die but unable to move. Life is a beautiful thing because it ends, if it would never end it would be a curse because the beauty fades but the troubles stay.

With this world there is always something to do. Think about it. 4. something billion people. Each with a different agenda, a different daily routine, and different hobbies. Group all 4 bilion of them into a couple hundred thousand different groups and you still have cultures and festivals, events, etc to do watch learn and so on.
Hell, if i were immortal i would surely go on a killing spree. We were talking biologically immortal correct? But if i cut your throat or ripped your heart from your chest you would infact die, yes?

Because you touch yourself at night

For our own sanity's sake, seriously, think about the people you despise here at the forums, can you immagine them, plus millions of people like them never dieing? Last time I checked Earth isn't Hell. 😆

Actually I would like to see what happens next. Think about it, when everything that you know dies it affects you right? Why does it affect you because you get close to it, close enough that you suffer when it leaves. So why get close to everything? Not a good idea is it. And besides you don't have to be alone you can be with another person who share the same gift as you. Oh and you get rid of your troubles if you must.....
