Nothing is wrong with Link's style of course. It's how you'd likely fight with a sword if you wanted to be effective at all.

Fixed.

Difference is Sora abuses his supernatural abilities and incorporates them into his fights. [/B]

Which has nothing to do with skill whatsoever, as I've said already. His style is terrible for real world use and would get him killed against someone with comparable stats and a more economical style.

Any claims of Sora's skill based on the theatrics he pulls off are not possible to grant, its due to as you and I said his actual meta-human stats, which is what would give him the victory over Link in a sword fight 'as is'.

Skill is next to impossible to quantify without acknowledging the fact that its all filable as physical stats.

Cute. Both use a sword like a bat yet one is more effective than the other.

Abusing your supernatural powers to an effective extent counts as skill. To a degree at least.

Then let's be fair. Who is better off? The guy who knows how to guard or the guy who is so unfamiliar with two handed swordplay that he handles it like it's a one handed sword? There is a difference of course.

Force powers and lightsabers say hi. In a fight between combatants with equalized tech and physical attributes with force banned, the Samurai does win though, since, you know, his fighting style actually applies to bladed weapons.

Guh. Stop saying "in a fight in which they are equal the samurai wins." The whole point of the example is they AREN'T equal.

None, and I'm glad, since that would make Link fail as a swordsman.

Alright, let me put it differently. What cut scene has Link performing swordsmanship that is super human or outside of something anyone skilled with a sword can do?

Zomg strawmens everywhere.

Sora's fighting style has nothing to do with him being faster or more agile than heartless. Is Hulk a more skilled melee combatant than Batman? What would happen to Hulk if he tried to fight Batman, and they had identical strength/durability/ect?
Except it's just a constant string of opennings and poorly thought out comboes with unnecessary expositions of his vitals.

What? I don't get the Hulk reference. Obviously if you had someone who is just as strong as him, yet faster and a better fighter, the Hulk would loose. I don't see how this relates to Sora and Link.

I think the problem here is that you think Sora is a bad fighter with high physical stats to help him win. Which is wrong. Sora's style is flashy, but that doesn't make it bad. He fought Sephiroth, who was the greatest swordsman of the FF7 world. I'll bring Advent Children up again. It was a flashy fight, but it WASN"T them just swinging their swords around. Their attacks were calculated. To claim otherwise is just being dishonest.

Crappy statement. A Jedi's fighting style is built around the omni-directional cutting power of the lightsaber. Forcing him to use a bladed weapon isn't fair, juat as forcing the Samurai to use a practically wieghtless lightsaber wouldn't be fair.

Blade to saber I'd put a Jedi over a Samurai anyday, even with equalised stats.

Nemebro's right, Jedi don't fight like Sora or anime guys do. Except Galen Marek, because his backwards sword thing is just stupid.

What happened to the whole experience and being trained thing?

If Sora was more irl and less anime I could see his style matching a Jedis in a way.

Cool thing about the Batman & Hulk comparison is Batman is trained and experienced and we all know.

Trained v.s. experienced my money is on experienced.

Tell me ScreamPaste, who has more experience with two-handed sword fighting? Link or Sora? 313

Except that Batman dies a horrible death when that two story house is thrown at him.

Read Moo, read.

I thought we were being fair?

What gave you that idea?

You.

Ah, I did.

So being fair, Sora has more experience with using a two handed fighting style while Link has more experience with a shield. Yay for fairness.

Sora qualifies as a two handed fighting style now? When the hell did he even qualify for a style?

I guess since he started using a weapon with two hands. Which he has done since he was like 4.

Considering how he still has no skill at all, that's fairly impressive. Just in a bad way.

Why are people still clinging to Link having such great skill? He can beat normal knights and a clone, big deal..

The minute of combat Roxas performs in Deep Dive is better then anything shown by Link, regardless of shield.

Scream said it himself that he'd take experience over trained, which is > inexperience.

Sora(experienced)>Link(inexperienced)

Note: Obviously the above is for two-handed sword fighting. Fighting with a shield is the opposite of course.

I didn't say anything about great skill. But he's better than Sora.

And KH combat isn't better than anything. That crap is just choreographed to look cool. Just like FF and DMC. So you'd have to mean flashier when you say better to be correct.
