Ben is always listed as more skilled then colossus in any hand book.

he also has military training. he been stated by wolverine along with many other as beeing very skilled.

he an exspert in wrestling and boxing. He skilled in other forms of fighting as well.

The dude was the top boxer in the air force if I am not mistaken.

he has far more training and has been a skilled fighter since before he became the thing.

colossus is not ben superior in skill. He not even ben equal in skill.

colossus wins, but it not due to skill

Well I am not gonna say Colossus is more skilled but I will say he is equal or damm close. He was trained by Wolverine himself and trained 6 hours a day for five days a week in the danger room.

Let us see, once more....

Colossus is stronger than the Thing.

He's faster than the Thing.

He's more durable than the Thing.

He's more skilled than the Thing.

The Thing...has....

Heart. And even that is arguable, considering that Colossus was willing to give his own life to save people from the legacy virus.

So.....

Strength, speed, skill, and durability versus (an arguable and almost negligible) advantage in willpower.

Hard decision.

Colossus also is smarter(handbooks) and speaks better english than Thing does.

he was trained by wolverine true however he was not trained in advance fighting styles. He actually has enevr mastered a single form of martial artist which Thing has.

thing is the superior in skill. colossus is not far behind, but there is clearly a difference in skill.

Colossus for the win. He has better durability, agility and stamina. I dont think strength plays much of a factor here, so i wont even mention anyone having an advantage there.

Thig is a good fighter, but i personally dont think hes an expert at wrestling or boxing. Just good at it and better than most powerhouses. Colossus isnt bad either.

With that said, Colossus ftw 6/10.

boxing isn't a martial art... what martial art has thing mastered?

colossus trains daily with cyclops, wolverine and shadowcat, three incredibly competent fighters... he's bound to learn something from them...

he's also a very intelligent fighter...

Yes it is. Its not the same exact thing as Karate or KungFu but its still a martial art.

actaully it is a martial art.........

yes and? pickign stuff up and mastering a style is completely different. not to mention every thing shaowcat knwos was tought to her by wolverine........

ya and.......that does not make him as skilled as ben........

i'd honestly never considered it to be, to be honest... hmm... not to devalue it as a fighting style or anything, i guess it just never occured to me that way... *shrugs*

you do realise how MUCH he's actually learned from those around him right?

not to mention every thing shaowcat knwos was tought to her by wolverine........

which means peter has three good fighters to teach him... and you're contradicting yourself a tad... shadowcat studied under wolverine, in a similar way to how colossus would have studied under cyclops and wolverine, and even shadowcat... if she can learn alot, why can't he?

not to mention storm and bishop too...

ya and.......that does not make him as skilled as ben........

intelligence actually plays a huge part... you can be the bruce lee of h2h fighters in marvel, but if you don't use it properly you're screwed... peter's used his brains quite a bit when he came up against tough opponents...

Really even though martial arts is just the general definition of disciplined fighting styles which boxing is……..

Boxing actually one of the best fighting styles to learn for street fights……

Yes I do and it not as much as you think

Lets see here. First I did not contradict any thing. You purly speculating that Cyclopes taught him ton’s of martial art. Cyclopes is not even that skilled of a martial artist. It never been shown once that Cyclopes has personally trained colossus one on one in h2h combat.

Wolverine and shadow cat’s relationship is very different then colossus and wolverines. Wolverine thinks of kitty as his daughter. He has personally trained her in h2h combat, but only her in private lesions. She also was given martial art knowledge beyond her years by Ogun. Colossus could not even hope to be her skill level she had years of study given to her by super natural means.

Storm not that skilled. When has you ever seen bishop teach colossus how to fight?

So does ben and ben has the experience of using his fighting skills in war time with out the aid of powers.

I know boxing isn't a traditional martial art such as karate or jujitsu, but Bruce Lee had enough respect for boxing to use several components of it when he was developing Jeet Kun Do. I think Bruce Lee has more right to decide what matters in fighting than just about anybody else... ever.

Also, I know it was already stated earlier, but I wanted to point out again that the Thing is also trained in wrestling. These two disciplines together make for a skilled fighter that can either beat you with quick strikes or he can beat you while grappling on the ground.

So yeah, I agree with capt that the Thing has more fighting skills than Colossus, but he doesn't outclass him enough to win against Colossus' superior physical attributes.

Colossus has been trained by Nightcrawler with fencing techniques:

Does Thing have weapons training?

Are they fencing or fighting with staves?

seeing as how they won't be fighting with weapons.......

neither one of thsoe weapons helps you with h2h prowess.....

thing trained in many different guns.....

colossus wins

Nightcrawler and Colossus were using real swords. Colossus and Sunspot were using bo staffs.

Sorry about the confusion.

ehem.. Are Thing and Colossus using swords or staves in this fight? If so, I hope they're made of some REALLY strong metal.

Honestly, what use would Colossus have for being able to parry and dodge stuff that can't get through his armor? He would be better of training with Wolverine on how to hurt people good than waisting his time with skills he will never use.

It's better to have training and not need than to need it and not have it.

yes, but the problem is he has training that is all, but usless in this match.

in overall h2h skill niether of those styles are helpful.

he a good fighter, but in h2h prowess he just not as skilled as thing who an exspert boxer and wrestler.

either way colossus wins.

And I bet those skills are going to come in really handy if Colossus ever runs afoul of a bandit with an adamantium sword. It's not going to help him in this fight though.
