Is Bush The Worst U.S. President Ever?

Some of you are just saying a President who did nothing notable while in office is a bad President, rather than them just being a mediocre to decent President.

As for the worst President in history? That's got to be Franklin Pierce: The man liked by many before taking office, and then reviled by all after leaving. He was bullied into policies that paved the way for the Civil War, and then when it came down to it, he refused to see that he was responsible for it. He legitimately thought he was a good President.

And Bush genuinely thinks the Iraq war is going smoothly and the war on terror is being delt with perfectly, and that no one deserved to be fired on 9/11.

He legitimately thinks he's a good president.

Then again, he was good in the perspective of his daddy's friends.

The decay and destruction of the Union trumps the Iraq war in Presidential history, I'm afraid. Sure, Buchanan didn't help in stopping the coming Civil War, but Pierce just upped and pushed it forward by years. Now, don't get me wrong, just because I'm saying Pierce was the worst does not mean I think Bush was in anyway good.

Of course, there's also Lincoln lying (or at least telling half truths) in order to sell his war against a power that was apparently not aggressive towards the country and had technically broken no laws . . . yeah.

Fair enough, yeah, I guess you could say Pierce was the worst. As well as A. Johnson.

I feel it's like a sliding end to means justification scale is in order.
