Illegal Immigrants in the U.S. Protest against Immigration Policies

Started by FistOfThe North21 pages

I heard that 61% of illegal immigrants in the U.S. don't actually hold jobs.

The issue is also a matter of safety, as well. Did you know that Mohammad Ata, the leader behind the airplane attacks on 9/11, was an illegal immigrant? His visa expired way before him and his cowardly henchmen committed the worst attack on U.S. soil.

The gov't tried to forge a new ones up for them to try and pass it off as that they were legally in here before the attacks, but that didn't work.

61% no way? If its for safety, they should also talk about the Canadian border too (thats how they came in!) .... point is our Congress sucks... I mean look less that 17% (or not quite sure what the actual percentage is) of containers are inspected.... why don't we look into that as well? ...the only reason theyre addressing the immigration issue now is cuz of the media and midterm elections are coming up, and if they do do something about illegal immigration, it probably wont be that drastic since theyre worried about alienating the hispanics and what not..

if your country was corrupt youd do what you could to leave and try to start a better life for your kids

My country is corrupt. I'm not leaving it.

A load of crap is you holding a candle to events when this nation first started and why settlers came here, to a modern world and why people come here. Now when immigrants come here illegally its against an established Nations laws.

You keep talking about basic rights and goals. Let me help you here, its not the USA's job to facilitate your goals when you cannot even follow our rules. Period don't like it, well many other criminals don't either and it doesn't make it any more correct for an illegal immigrant to be able to get away with it. They had basic rights in Mexico, the right to live!

So in summary this isn't a British empire and stop using the lame "your conuntry was built this way" motto because a great many countries were built the same way. Thats not what we are today and yet we still have a greater influx of immigrants and people that want to live here over a great deal of other countries in the world. Clueless....................

People have the right to better their lives! thats a natural law. to make things better for themselves and their children. You can honestly say youre opposed to someone trying to better themselves in society?

I dont know if you understand this, but living in poverty here in the United States sucks. but its definetly 10x better than living in poverty in a "3rd world country" where everyday you have to scavenge literally on your hands and knees to look for food.

I like that point you bring up... i find it really encridible how the issue of how the majority of our ports here at home have been sold off to foriengers in the middle east...and now this issue is overshadowing that.

Hey I can empathize with that but you know what? We have a system to come here legally. If you think its to hard, tough it cannot be harder then what your describing in third world countries now is it?

What your saying isn't nec better themselves in society, because in Mexico there is a society already. What your asking is, am I opposed to someone bettering themselves in U.S. society. The answer is without a doubt YES if its illegal.

My mother came here legally...my father came here illegally. I've heard both of their stories of how difficult it is to get here the "legal" way. its hard. I'm not arguing against immigration. I know for a fact we need to control our borders, but not to the extent that the measures proposed in the Senate are urging.

First and foremost we need to consider US citizens and their welfare and what they want before we consider immgrants and what they percieve as fair and equal.

Bush didnt consider the welfare, thoughts and perspectives of the people he REPRESENTS when he got us into a war with a country through lies and deciet.

Hey whatever, thats for another discussion. On this topic I can tell you that if it is in regards to illegal immigrants I don't really recognize any value to what they saying about needs or wants.

I am for allowing them some room to breathe and go through the right channels to become legal...............but at the end of the day they are committing a crime.

Go break a law in the USA become a felon and get caught, tell me if they just let you go free without any penatlies what so ever.

Well I guess they are saying the Law is unjust. Kind of liek the Jews when Hitler said they couldn't marry Ariens anymore....otr the Blacks when the US decided that Seperate but Equal is a good idea....

Well then others, in Germany someone providing a place for an umarried couple committeds an Illegal act until the 60s. This is now not seen as Illegal anymore. What if they think their way of Immigration should not be considered as Illegal anymore either.

When we are discussing "they," are you referring to illegal immigrants?

Illegal Immigrants. And those supporting a change in the immigration laws to make it easier.

no I'm saying theyre linked. Consider people as PEOPLE...needs and wants would fly right out the window with humanitarian aid right? At least thats what it sounds like youre elluding to.

Whatever peoples thoughts. I believe one of the underlying reasons to this is prejudice. Not prejudice towards immigrants as a whole. But Latin Americans in this country. Every generation has its pawns, like African Americans in the 50s, its Latin Americans now, only people are alot more outspoken and bolder with it

First I could give two shit about what illegal immigrants want, key being illegal. If you are legal in the USA and would like to see change go for it. If citizens of the USA would like to see an easier immigration law to pass, super keep it realistic and make sure to become a citizen you learn to speak english.

So, why are you more important then illegal Immigrants? Just because your parents were Legally here? Seems to be quite unfair. Also english is not the official language of the USA last time I checked.

Just because my parents were legally here, lol. If someone wants to come to the USA I am all for it. My hats off to you, seriously thats fantastic. If you decide what you want is more important then the laws of the USA to come here guess what? I feel you have just gone one step beyond and any good faith from the USA should get thrown out the window.

What you feel is fair and just really doesn't matter now. If you rob a store or kill someone there is a penalty in the USA. Guess what if you come here ILLEGALLY you have broken the law and don't deserve special treatment.

English is the language spoken throughout most of the USA. If you cannot come into a new culture and adapt somewhat to your surroundings you are alienating yourself from becoming more accepted, that would be self inflicted.

But why shouldn't everyone be put through the same channels. I mean why should you get a free ridfe while another has to go through the problwm of being accepted?
