We have the best football team in the NFL.

I think we have the best team in the NBA.

I know, this year: 2007, we'll win the Super Bowl, The World Series Championship and the NBA Championship.

Yea Boston!

Listen, we're gonna win the World Series. I would even say that as a Rockies fan.

And how exactly does Denver own Boston in that catagory?

The Rockies aren't going anywhere but back home after losing the '07 World Series to the Red Sox. You probably said the same thing about th Indians and look what happened.

Go Sox!

The Red Sox are a better team overall. And are favored to take it.

I'm biased. But I can be fair. And the Rockies really haven't a chance. Not even statistically. A Rockies champ win would be pure luck.

(we threw the impromtu Rex Sox Championship party of the decade -inside and outside the house, i didn't care if it was cold as hell out with no coat on.)

Bring out the broom for the sweep!

I told you! I precisely predicted the Red Sox championship with perfect accuracy. I knew it from the start of the season.

YES!....

The better team won frankly, which means Colorado wasn't the better team after all.

(Oh, and the Patriots won again, lol) while continuing to shalaka teams and shatter records.

It's the city's 5th pro sports championship since 2000. Pats were this close || to winning it all last year, too. The festivites will continue. Then the Pats will win, ah man...

YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!! Whoa! GO SOX!

lmao!!

Yes... just mocking....

Oh well....que sera, sera?

Halos are keeping Bobby Abreau for two years so I'm glad they made this move so far.

They overpaid a bit. 19 million? I expected some where around the 15 million mark.

Interesting.

Mocking somebody else for something they do themselves....

Just so we're clear here, I'm a Mariner/Rockie fan.

Please. I live in Boston. I'm constantly around annoying red sox fans. They're the ones that're constantly on the Yankees jock about how much they hate. The bandwagon female fans are the worse with the pink red sox hats that don't even know what the fcuks going on and are just going along cause it's fun to be apart of the excitement (until it dies down) and cause guys they like are into the sox. Gay.

Like I said death to all Yankee haters. And when it's your time to go, may flights of devils wing you all to your resting place in hell.

And you're drippin' with wack juice. Drink your haterade somewhere else, punk.

And those son's of bitches won the world series, btw..

Reading this all I can think is:

So with the Twins trading Gomez to the Brewers for JJ Hardy, they basically traded Johan Santana for JJ Hardy. Yeah, that was a good trade.

[/sarcasm]

The Johan trade was never though of to be a good one, it was a case of take whatever they could get before they get nothing. They tried to play NY/NY/Boston off each other to drive up the package and it backfired. That is why I think Toronto needs to unload Roy during the Winter while he has more value vs the short rental that will come if they wait until Summer.

That wasn't even close to all they could get, though. There were other packages at the time still on the table. They took the Mets package because that's where Johan said he wanted to go.

Plus, I know it was a bad deal, but to unload Gomez like that for a injury prone player like that is foolish. Yes, he had a bad year, but to just cut him loose like that? Stupid.

Toronto should have traded Halladay already, the package is going down with each passing day.

Well teams needed to be able to sign Johan to the $$$ he wanted so that limited trading him a lot of places. Boston had put Lester/Ellsbury on the table and the Twins were too greedy and tried for more and ended up screwing themselves big time.

If the Phils decide to not keep Pedro Feliz, I hope they can land Chone Figgins. They can put him in the leadoff spot and drop Jimmy to the 7th spot, since Rollins tries to hit HRs instead of getting on base anyway. I could only imagine this offense with a TRUE leadoff hitter.

Couldn't they of just let Victorino hit #1 and tried this already?

Yeah they have tried this already and moved Utley in the 2 spot, but I can't remember if they did that in the 2009 year, or 2008. Victorino seems to do much better in the 2 hole though, and I would rather have Utley 3rd than 2nd because he would have more opportunities to drive in runs.

Yea moving Utley to #2 is a mistake. They just want 2 guys that can get on base at 1/2 and they are pretty set.

Utley is great at getting on base but then you gotta count on Howard to drive in the runs, and while he drives in a lot of runs he also strikes out a lot, so you gotta keep Utley at 3. Plus I would take Utley over Howard 10 times out of 10 in RBI situations.

I doubt the Phillies will go after Figgins. Their payroll is at like 130 right now, and I'm pretty sure Lee's option this year is 5 million more than last year, so that eats up whatever money they would have had. That would be a good pickup, though. I see them getting Harden.

Lee's option is 9 million. And between Thome, Eaton, Jenkins, and Myers' contrancts coming off, theres at least 25 million right there or probably more than that. Everybody is saying Beltre, but goddamn if they land Figgins I will be so excited.

Yea Figgins is a better fit than Beltre.

Lee was making like four million last year, so yeah, five million more since his option is 9 million. Then all of Utley's, Howard's, Ibanez's, and Hamels' contracts go up like four million each. So in actuality it's more like 10-20 million that is coming off of the payroll, which will be used to sign another starter (Harden, I think), and bullpen help. I honestly don't see them going after Figgins as agressively as they should.
