Is he good?

Hopefully, we get Drybak, or Happ in the deal.

Alex "insert greek name" probably did well. He got Halladay to a World Series favourite, and to the National League so the Jays will only see him a few times. Hopefully it's somebody good considering he is the second best player to ever play for the Jays.

If Drabek is in the deal then the deal officially sucks for the Phillies., cause he is supposed to be a stud. If Taylor, Brown or Happ is in the deal, then it's a good deal for the Phillies, although I heard Brown is a lot better than Taylor so I hope it's Taylor. I love Lee to death, he is so awesome, but Halladay for 3/4 years is hard to pass up. I was hoping they would somehow have Lee/Halladay at the top of the rotation, but I guess it's not meant to be.

Halladay should dominate the NL though, he dominated the AL while playing against the Red Sox, Yankees, and Rays most of the time, and also on a mediocre Jays team. Put our offense and nasty defense behind him and good lord.

Also, Mariners are now my favorite AL team. Griffey has been my favorite player since forever, Ichiro is the man, I love King Felix, and now add Lee. Felix and Lee should be a force at the top of the rotation.

What I heard today is there is no chance Drabek is moving anywhere.

Yeah, it sucks losing Halladay but he could of left years ago. Phillies are getting the best, or second best pitcher in the league and for another 5 years or so. Halladay is also the type of pitcher who will be just as good for that 5 years because he has really good stuff, it's not wicked and relies on his smarts and savvy to win most games.

There is many conflicting reports on who is going.

There is literally millions of theories as to what the trade is. It is insanity. I've heard things from the Phillies being retarded and trading Lee/Drabek/Brown/Taylor, and then things like the Mariners role in the deal is being overrated, and they are actually trading a prospect for Blanton, and then the Phillies are trading a lot of their prospects for Halladay. I've crazy things like Victorino is in it.

The extension for Halladay though is believed to be 3 years 60 million. Drabek better not be in the deal, though. I also heard that the Mariners top prospect, Aumont(or whatever) is actually going to Philly to take the place of Drabek who's going to the Jays.

There are more theories to this trade then there were to what would happen in the 7th Harry Potter book.

Only 3 years? Hmm, why not 5? Must be something on Halladay's end.

3 Year Extension, so 4 total years with us. I think it's a good amount of years.

Yea heard more new ways it might happen tonight.. just going to have to wait and see.

Replacing an old washed up Vlad with Matsui? Not sure that is the answer to losing Lackey/Chone.

Lackey is finally going to the team that owned him in the past. Losing Chone was bad, but losing the chance to get Halladay? Terrible.

The Angels probably had no prospects deemed worthy enough for the Jays

Drabek was supposedly #1 on the Jays wish list. I really dont think the Angels had much of a shot though and at this point it would be hard to pick them for better than 2nd in the West and I might even give that to Texas.

Well, at least the Jays have high wishes.

I hate how teams trade one of their best players to ever play in that uniform for 25 cents on the dollar just because they "get" something for him.

Better than getting nothing when that player has made it clear he is not resigning.

**** it, I rather keep him.

A bad trade could ruin a franchise for a long time and means the end of the GM.

Losing a guy in FA does not.

As for the trade, it looks like the Jays could got value. I'm surprised there wasn't more prospects though.

Yea its hard, still unless you think you have a good shot at winning that year I think I would rather get something and make the trade.

Remember you are talking to someone who saw Seattle let Randy Johnson, Griffey, and A Rod all leave in the span of 2 seasons.

I know.

I guess I'm the type of guy that I don't see a point in getting "prospects" that won't do shit.

For example, the Vince Carter trade. We gave him away for nothing and it ruined the franchise for a couple of years. Might as well keep him and at least have something that fans like.

I'm talking about getting nobodies. I don't see a point.

Yea like what the Twins did. They did not get shit for Johan. Drabek at least is very highly rated.
