its weird...the rockies have acually lasted this long...

I been wanting to say this for along time but never got around to it.I cannot believe the yankees were stupid enough to sigh Johnny Damon to such a huge contract. That has by far got to be the worst signing the yankees have ever made by far in their history and for so much money.Them signing Damon has got to rival footballs worst signing ever which was Brian Billick of the Ravens to have been so much of a morn to actually think that Elvis Grbec would be an improvement for them at quarterback for the Raves over Trent Dilfer.Trent Dilfer only goes out and wins a superbowl for them and they reward him by letting him go and signing Elvis grbec who was a HUGE cancer for the chiefs.Yes is very comparable to that because like the boston medai says-He looks like Jesus-throws like mary-which is so true-he has a very weak arm and he is a horrible clutch hitter.the other day I was watching a yankees game and they were down by one run in the bottom of the 9th with two out and the next two hitters got infield singles and got a rally going on.then Damon came to hit and predictable as he is I called it right.I say-oh good, now i can relax now.Damon wont get a hit. He's a horrible clutch hitter.sure enough he killed the rally and grounded out. πŸ˜† Just like Brian Billick had to have been on drugs to sign Grbec over Dilfer than,George Steinbreener must be on crack. He's lost it. πŸ˜†

The Red Sox suck. They are horrible without Jason Varitek. Nobody can pitch. It's 10-5 right now, if they don't come back and win, tey will be 4 1/2 out and IMO HAVE to win the next two games. How do you WALK IN two runs for christ sake. I would mind if they would have gotten a hit, but 2 friggen walks with the bases loaded, and THEN a hit is just unacceptable. The Red Sox better get it going, and then hope Jason Varitek comes back soon.

face-plainface-plainface-plainface-plainface-plain

They dont suck as much as the Blue Jays, who are going to lose Vernon Wells after next season.

How does that crow taste my man? Have you seen any of the boston yankees series? πŸ™„ He just droped 3 doubles on them went 9-18 in the series 2 homers slaughtered boston. Hes 4th in the al in runs scored 8th in stolen bases and by the way hes got a 20 homerun, 20 stolen base season..

As far as your comparison of elvis grbac to johnny your are a moron. And to think that you knew more than the ravens front office about that move is shit its all hindsight kid stuff like that happens all the time in sports by the way the reason Brian was so headstrong about picking up Elvis was he just come off a Pro Bowl Monster season of over 4,164 yards passing 28 touchdowns with KC. While dilfer in 2000 with Ravens posted 1,502 yards passing 12 touchdowns to 11 ints with a 76.2 quaterback rating I think you can see why the move was made did it turn out bad yeah were they morons for making it no shit happens.. And to claim trent dilfer won the superbowl for that team is a joke Lewis rushed for 103 yards and scored a touchdown in the game, becoming only the second rookie ever to rush for over 100 yards in a Super Bowl. In 2000, Lewis led a defense which set a 16-game single season record for fewest points allowed (165) and fewest rushing yards allowed (970). The team recorded 4 shutouts, 1 shy of the single season record. Lewis finished 1st league-wide in 6 key defensive categories. Lewis won Superbowl XXXV MVP honors, Defensive Player of the Year honors, 1st team All-Pro honors by AP, and a unanimous All-Pro selection in 2000. He also started in the Pro Bowl. The ravens defense in 4 games in the 2000 playoffs including the superbowl included allowed 23 points. But Dilfer won it for them Right he had 153 yards passing and 1 touchdown you have just been schooled my man Next... http://www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/rav2000.htm
Johnny damon has been huge for the yanks this year and continues to be..

Dilfer was good enough to not lose the superbowl, not good enough to win it keep that in mind.

I thin Saudi Arabi is gonna win cause um.. well just check out this "kid"

okay so he got extra motivated and inspired against his old team and put on a good showing againt them, big deal, happens all the time with players in pro sports.they get extra motivated against their old team and perform well against them.He was a non factor against the yankees in the playoffs and against the cardinals in the series and he chocked in the playoffs last year with the white sox strking out in typical Damon fashion with the bases loaded and two outs. πŸ˜† Grbec only had those statistics because he was playing behind the best offensive line in the league. He proved in that game with the ravens that just like he always was with the chiefs, when he would play in a big game that counted he would choke and make many crucial mistakes that would cost the chiefs and then the ravens in the playoffs, the game.damn you got reasding problems.I never claimed he won the superbowl for them,I just said he was a better quarterback than Elvis was.The difference between why the ravens could win the superbowl with dilfer and why they could not advance there with Grbec is Dilfer was able to command something from his teammates that Grbec never could.Respect.He never blamed his teammates or pointed his finger at them when he screwed up.Grbec blamed his chiefs teammates for HIS screwups all the time.Dilfer was a leader and his players respected him. They never respected grbec and grbec was never a leader with either club and neither club respected him.Did you notice that the Ravens did not ask Grbec back again the following year? πŸ˜† I guess you also missed it when Shannon Sharp after the playoff loss to the steelers voiced his anger afterwards about Billick keeping Grbec for the whole year and especially in the playoff game instead of going with Randall cunningham they're back up saying-I would advise coach billick during the year changes need to be made in personal and at quarterback,he kept on insisting that changes were not needed, that we would be fine and stick with what we got.Well we were NOT fine today and we sticked with what we got and who we had at quarterback and look where it got us.I laughed my butt off over that one.He really tore into him. πŸ˜† I think shannon sharp knows better about qb's than you do. πŸ˜† πŸ™„ are you forgetting those 3 interceptions grbck threw in that game that cost them the game? LOL. Dilfer was not a great quarterback and I understand why Billick would want another one,but its funny how everybody here in kansas city knew that dilfer was better than grbec was except for you Brain Billick and others. πŸ˜„ funny how everybody here in kansas city agreed with me that the ravens have a stong enough defense that they will fur sure make it back to the playoffs but just as everybody predicted and knew in kansas city-he would never get them to the superbowl.Dilfer wasnt a good quarterback no doubt, but he did just enough things to help them win and didnt make the crucial mistakes that Elvis did so that they could win.

as far as Damon, till he performs great in some PLAYOFF games, the yankees havent shown they made a very wise decision in aquiring him.taken to school? okay, whatever. πŸ™„

That was the huge difference in why Dilfer was a better quarterback than Grbec was.Dilfer didnt panic and make costly decisions in big games like grbec always did with the chiefs and like he did with the Ravens..In the big games that counted,Dilfer did enough to help them get to the superbowl and win it.He did just enough not to lose games for them by not making critical mistakes like throwing interceptions for touchdowns.Elvis was a pro at that in the big games. πŸ˜† He WASNT good enough to win big games for them.Everybody here in kansas city knew Elvis would never get the Ravens back to the superbowl except Brian Billiack and the ravens front office.Like I said,i can understand them wanting to get another more effeciant quarterback but Grbec? Billick and the front office had their heads up their asses thinking he would be an improvement over Dilfer. πŸ™„

on to damon, until he is a factor in a PLAYOFF game, they yankees I still maintain were morons to aqurie him.He will cost them in the playoffs if they get that far, just watch.

What are you talking about kid? Are you forgetting his 2 HR 6 RBI performance in game 7 against the yanks in 2004. That same year hit 467. against the angels and 311. in the world series including a HR and triple in game 4 sweep of the cardinals in the series.. 2001 with the A's hit 409. in the playoffs.

And as far as your claiming johnny damon choked against the whitesox yeah he had a bad series so did the most "Clutch hitter" david ortiz who had 1 rbi which was off a HR and had 5 strikeouts in 12 ABs they all hit like shit They ran into a buzz saw called Chicago whitesox last year.

And your rant about Grbac and dilfer is all in Hindsight which is my point I could bring up 300+ bad signings and trades and call front offices morons but its all in hindsight and trust me nobody knew at that time Grbac would not have worked out he was comimg off a sick year with KC and Dilfer though he was on the team that won the superbowl had a shit year of 12 TDS and 11 INTs he was expendable you cant rely on the running ball 28 + a game and think your defense can replicate that year again so they try to upgrade the quaterback position to try and take the strain off the D and running game it didnt work out shit happens.

By the way in 2001 when Grbac took over jamal lewis did not play one game all year due to injury, there leading rusher that year was Terry Allen who had rushed for 658 yards a 3.9 YAC and 3 tds the second leading rusher was Jason Brookins who rushed for 551 yards and 3.6 YAC 5 tds so when your offense is built around running the ball 25 + a game and thats what you get plus your receiving core best wideout is Qadry Ismail your in trouble. Not to make a excuse for him but losing jamal proably didint help his transition especially a back who just put up over 1,600 total yards and 4.5 a carry when they won the superbowl in his rookie year..

gotta give papelbon all the credit in the world for that.. comes in, in the 8th with bases loaded no one out with Giambi up and A-Rod on deck. He manages to get them out of it only giving up a run and keeping the lead.

Yankees f*cking tied it thought. Extra innings now.

And I have to mention this. You see Abreu gets all the hits in the world, but when it comes to the 9th inning and you REALLY need a hit, he strikes out. Typical Philadelphia Abreu, except in Philadelphia he didn't get many hits either.

Son of a b*tch.

8-5 now. Red Sox season is done. The only chance they have now is the WC, and even that doesn't look good.

i started playing madden after he got out of the 8th then i saw the score stream across the bottom 8-5 i was like WTF!

go yankees.

whats with all these statistics during the year,I dont give a crap about what he did against teams during the year. and no I havent forgotten his 2 HR 6 RBI performance against the yankees in game 7 but you appear to have forgotten that the score of that game was 13-5 a blowout when the game was hardly on the line.even without his 6 RBI'S they still win the game 7-5. all I care about is his performance during the championship games and they are not good.that was back then in 2001 against the A'S.I am talking about what he has done since leaving the A'S during championship games which is diddly.David Ortiz is not the player in question here. and as far as your point on his performance in game 7.Big deal. one RBI homer.Even if he doesnt hit that home run the red sox still win that game because the final score was 3-0.take away the homer and the score is still 2-0 without his homerun.just like game 7 of playoffs, non factor.

as far as grbec, you ignore the fact that the players believed and repected Dilfer something Grbec never got from either the chiefs or ravens and probably not the 49ers either.again,in hindsight, funny how everybody here in kansas city knew that grbec would be a downgrade for them except those morons in the front office in baltimore. πŸ™„Not having Jamal Lewis is inexcusable for grbecs costly 3 interception performance against the steelers. again players would come out and try and win for Dilfer, toward the end as I pointed out,the players obviously got sick of elvis and did not want to go and try and perform their best for him anymore.the fact that your ignorant enough to defend grbecs signing over dilfer just shows what a waste of time it is for me to even try to reason with you.good bye,Im done with you.
