Just recapping this, I think Sorgo took Lana's comment meaning that anyone who came after her was a "noob", or "newbie", which isn't much better in most cases. I'd like to point out that the goal isn't to pretend to be better than anyone and pulling time spent here at KMC is an arbitary thing to get upset about. I've seen people here since '03 or '04 who still type like children, or reason like them, and I've seen new members with minds sharper than a stiletto.
What is the purpose? Well, in the SWVF, it's pretty much a very popular subject with a lot of opinionated people. And as we all know, opinions are subjective. We try and bring it back into the realm of objective so it isn't just a screaming match. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But we like the subject, so we stay. And if you peek in there, you can see that I'm making efforts to put more jazz into the concept of simply versus; creating BAttlefield scenarios and bringing up points for discussion. A lot of the members there joined initially (And perhaps solely) for that section, and since they don't venture far they have to make the most with what they have.
Does the title mean anything? Not really. Just recognition by others of the SWVF as being a notable and thorough debator, capable of using reason and applying evidence when called for.
Should we get bad press for this thread? I hope not. I haven't done anything to be judged for a title. I'll let you judge my decisions and opinions anytime, but don't judge me just because I say I hang out with club A. And our badass A game. (Check profile for a link to that infamous quote). While I think this didn't need to escalate to this point, Lana's handling of it was pretty... unexpected and unprofessional. Insulting the members of the subforum is a hell of a lot worse than anything I've ever done as an antediluvian.
