Well the actual "feet" on it are displayed as a drawing, so I feel safe in saying that it will be revealed in less than five years that they discovered:an aligator!
Boy, what a stupid comment. Do you think that they only went by that drawing as opposed to using that drawing to illustrate a point? I take it that you didn't read the article or even enlarge the picture. If you were trying to be humorous, you failed miserably. What was funny though, was the fact that you tried to make an observation seem witty and sharp, but ended up spelling the punchline incorrectly. It's "Alligator". Two L's.

Or you could name it 'Eric", but maybe that would work only if it were annnnnnnnnnnn halibut.
"Walking Fish" ...The most recent "Evolutionary Hoax"
In response to this silliness..
Fossil Called Missing Link From Sea to Land Animals
www.dictionary.comWalking fish (Zo["o]l.), any one of numerous species of
Asiatic fishes of the genus Ophiocephalus, some of
which, as O. marulius, become over four feet long. They
have a special cavity over the gills lined with a membrane
adapted to retain moisture to aid in respiration, and are
thus able to travel considerable distances over the land
at night, whence the name. They construct a curious nest
for their young. Called also langya.
Other species of "Walking Fish"
Mudskipper..http://www.newyorktails.com/mudskippers.htm
While most fish are content to live their lives fully immersed in water, mudskippers (fishes of the genera Periophthalmus, Periophthalmodon, Boleophthalmus, Scartelao, and Zappa, of which the first two are commonly seen in the hobby) not only live IN water, but unlike most fish, mudskippers spend much of their life OUT of water! In nature, at high tide, you can find them at the water's surface, resting on rocks, roots or anything else they can find to perch on, usually within reach of their burrow. At low tide, mudskippers can be seen walking (yes, walking!) on mudflats, actively foraging for food.
Northern Snakehead Fishhttp://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2002/07/03/eveningnews/main514182.shtml
The snakehead has a primitive lung and could actually walk out of the water and head somewhere else, leaving people here wondering if the fish has already left the pond and headed to another one nearby or even to a river in the area.
Spotted Handfish
Handfishes are anglerfishes in the genus Brachionichthys, the only genus in the family Brachionichthyidae.[1][2]
They are small (up to 15 cm) bottom-dwelling marine fishes found in coastal waters of southern Australia and Tasmania. Their skin is covered with denticles (tooth-like scales), giving them the name warty anglers.
They use their pectoral fins to walk about on the sea floor. These highly modified fins have the appearance of hands, hence their scientific name, from Latin bracchium meaning "arm" and Greek ichthys meaning "fish".
Clarias batrachus(Walking catfish)It received its common name of the 'Walking Catfish' on its ability to walk overland from pond to pond when their original habitat dries up or after a heavy rainfall. They possess a much reduced air-bladder and their gills are stiffened to prevent their collapse when out of water and in a special part of the gill chamber are spongy arborecent (tree-like) organs growing from the upper ends of the gill arches. These and the skin surrounding them, are well supplied with blood vessels and operate efficiently in water lacking in oxygen or when the fish is out of water. They of course keep their gills closed when out of water and as long as their body is kept moist they can stay on land for a considerable length of time.
They're actually many more of these types of "Walking Fish." The most recent specimen found is probably an extinct version of the this unique species. Sorry Darwinists..the search for the missing link begins again..next time try to find a half man/half ape
someone didnt read the POINT of the "hoax" in that the fossil had evolved finger bones within those fins. but thats ok, i didnt expect you to know that since you just like to look at pictures instead of all that pesky reading.
:edit: wait a minute, they DO show pictures of the finger bones, so i guess you have no excuse. glad to see you're back btw. discussions as of late just seemed far too linear.

Yes.. I definately see..fin bones resembling fingers in this picture..
Seriously, I don't see how these "adapted fins" would be any different then the fins of the "spotted handfish" or similar of the family..
Of course as you evolutionist's like to do so often..you just make broad assumptions..and just throw a fictional picture up of what you believe the animal to look like...
I find it even more odd, that even the "fictional picture" already generated of this particular creature is extremely reminiscent to the "walking fish" that we currently see alive today.
Fictional Picture of Archaic/extinct species of walking fish..
Modern Walking Fish..
I don't know how such a discovery could be classified as the missing link..but hey, you all have found your calling..peace be to you my brothers. Now you only have about 1,000,000,000,0000,000 more "transitionals" to find. 😆

Oh like Adam and Eve because we have tons of pictures of both and skeletons to prove their remains absolutely!
