It's not about graphics when you are actually playing the game.
Wii sacrificed being flashier to spend their time working on the control for innovative game play, and to also make the machine less noisy (think XBox 360 which sounds like a ****ing plane taking off) and to have short load times.

Mine is very loud when I turn it on, and during loading screens if there is no sound file during that time...the machine is annoying at times, but I love it.
I hope, hope, hope that Wii doesn't end up having a power brick like the 360. The way my TV is set up, that power brick has to sit beside the TV so it has room. Then the way they have it so it can unplug from the plug that goes into the wall outlet, that comes out sometimes and I have to plug it back in.

Mine isn't loud at all.
At least not much more than any other console.
It's loudest when it's just booting up for me, and even then it's not so bad.

And did anyone see the tennis game that everyone was playing at the end of nintendo's press conference... because that seriously looked like it came off the N64 😆

So in other words...you'd rather have flashy graphics yet a game where the gameplay is shit?
Sorry, but it's the gameplay that keeps people PLAYING. Something that's fun to look at but not fun to play...isn't going to last long. It's like comparing the Star Wars movies....the PT didn't have nearly as good a plot, characters, etc. as the OT, so they covered up that fact with pretty graphics. It fooled some people, but not everyone.

But just because a game doesn't have cool controls doesn't mean it sucks... I just meant that I'd rather play something like....Halo 3 with really good graphics and a regular controller, than Halo 3 with a cool controller, but bad graphics.

It's not that either. It's a stand alone control that plugs into the GC control ports on the Wii for use on the Virtual Console games. Do you see where the hell this would plug into the Wiimote or vice versa?
