(Okay, I'm going to start with the pin. If you are pinned on you stomach and there is weight on your body then your movements are severely restricted. Even if you were a yoga master it would be hard for you to reach your leg up to your shoulder, and even if you could then you would not be able to do so with enough strength to kick someone off, believe me I've seen it tried in sparring and it only ended in pain for the person in the lock. Being held in a lock like that would make it extremely difficult to get out the way you suggest without that being the reason why you broke your elbow.Second, Ren has only been using basic techniques so far these are things you could easily pick up from movies or books of the martial arts. Ren is no master, he isn't as strong or fast as some of the other students and that is why he wants the training. Ren has had some experience with fighting but it is nothing any normal person couldn't handle.
There is really only one type of pop you hear coming from a joint, that is the same type of pop you hear from cracking your knuckles. If it were any kind of injury I would have said it was a snap or rip, the kind of sound you hear if your tendons are being damaged.
Lastly, I know of the training of the shoalin monks. I have studied the northern style shoalin kung fu and implemented the breath control and physical exercises into my training. The training takes years to make you resilient enough to withstand to pain of a broken bone, after two years I still feel pain from a solid punch. You would need to spend your entire life in the monastery. And if you did that, what would you need this school for? All I'm saying is that you can't be resistant to that level of pain at this point in your training, you are still just a kid. You can hide the fact that you are in pain, but even that would take a lot of concentration. I broke my nose during a fight once, it took everything I had to keep fighting with a strait face.)
[Only because it's sensless to argue any further, regardless of who stand in the right or at fault, I will give you the benefit of the doubt and call the match yours. I'll still be on my stomach...]
Raiden felt the popping in his shoulders, the weight was heavier than expected. What does this kid feed on? He tried to find a bearing, something to puch off of, but to no avail. Suddenly he felt a rushing cold feeling throughout his entire chest. No, not now. Please not now... He slowly lost his breath and passed out on the floor...

Misaki nodded and stood slowly, leaving her tanto and small throwing knives in the room, she followed Ryo out into the open dusk air.

Tien walked over and pulled Ren off of Raiden as soon as he noticed that something was wrong. "That's enough Ren." Tien said as he moved Ren aside. Tien quickly rolled Raiden onto his back. "Raiden... are you okay?" Tien asked with actual concern. Tien knew something was wrong, he could see it in Raiden's eyes.

Raiden could feel the faint pulse return to him. He felt very cold. He jolted up, and then to his side where a spewed up a cough of blood. When Tien reached down to help him up, Raiden extended his hand and stopped him from moving closer. He reached into his waist band and pulled out a small burlap sack. He swallowed the contents within, and was still for a moment. The silence was broken by coughs and gasps of breath.

Ryo felt the cold water but focused his ki to maintain his meditation. Ryo glanced over at Misaki to see if she was alright. "She isn't using ki... her focus is good, but she might not be able to keep this much longer... her body won't be able to handle it."
Misaki's body shuddered slightly in the cold and she withdrew a sharp breath before containing herself and regaining composure though it was hard to do in her current situation.

Tien said seriously as he stood up and went into a state of deep thought. "From what I have seen you are both very strong physically, and have a good grasp of the basics of kung fu... but you need restraint, you need to practice wisdom and patience rather then just technique." Tien said was he looked from Ren to Raiden. "Todays lesson is complete... get some rest and see me again when the sun raises."

Misaki's body shuddered slightly in the cold and she withdrew a sharp breath before containing herself and regaining composure though it was hard to do in her current situation.
The chilling water began seeping into every crevace in her lean body. Her mortal body shivering from the cold, Misaki allowed her mind to sink into the deep warm glow that she began to create. Endevouring now to block out the torture she was putting her body through and begin to regain control over the situation.
Originally posted by DragonWomanRyo watched Misaki in amazement. "I can't believe it... she forced herself to learn basic ki control... She might only be blocking the discomfort, but that is still a big step forward." Ryo thought to himself as he closed his eyes and continued to concentrate on his own ki. "The sun is just about to go down... maybe we should end the lesson and call it a day." Ryo thought before he looked at Misaki again. "I'll give her a few more minutes... she seems to be learning a lot from this lesson."

Misaki's glazed over dark eyes began to close, focussing on the heat radiating within her mind. Slowly the shivering of her mortal body began to come under control, her clenched fists that once sat at her sides slowly began to unravel in relaxation of her deep meditation.
