(Okay, slow way down. First off, you are a normal human, you can't be some hardened warrior. What would be the point of having him come to a martial arts school if he is already tougher then everyone else. Second, being a normal human you can't bend or contort like some crazy snake man, because you are not one! Third, Ren had no intention of breaking your arm, he just had you on a basic submission hold. (seriously I've practiced martial arts and that was one of the first locks I learned.) I'm sorry if I sound mean, I just want you to know what's going on.)
[1st. He's a monk, a Shoalin monk. Because most of his training composes of both a physcial strain and mental ones, pain is taught on a different level. For example, (because I've learned this from personal experience), the pain from a broken bone is instantaneous (like all pain). Using the numbness to distort the body in a means that many would find disgusting (in all aspects of the word) and unnatural, is one of only many endurments these monks live through. Their entire life is based on bearing pain as a tool for accomplishments. Pain is weakness of the mind
2nd. This one rides on more of a side note than actual contestment to your quote. Your failure to specify what type of popping noise was made when Ren made the pin, left me to assume the popping noise that I would have made it out to be with the limited details entailed to it's description. Perhaps if you were aiming for more of a hold down pin, than an actual submissive one, than it is your responsibility as an RPer to ensure such details are conveyed.
Lastly, your student didn't seem all that naive as well. If this is a school where only the best will be trained, don't expect punk students to go walking through the doors. Than again, the move wasn't as complex as you think. This is the pin (through your description):
Ren made Raiden lay on his stomach, Rem quickly put his knee on Raiden's shoulder and his left hand on his elbow
If this is so, most of your weight would be on the upper torso, not the lower back. Because of this little overlook of details, you make it possibly for free movements in the torso and hip/joint area. With the help of already bent legs and a craned back, you can pretty much reach someone's cheek with your ankles. Also, you were kicked off the body when I followed my semi-circle to turn me over and get me back on me feet. But surly you must give me credit for atleast stopping and recognizing the pain. But then again, I don't want to seem mean 😉]
