Yeah, I got the patch. Something about fixing a bug with vista, or whatever.
I just started playing the game a few minutes ago, I have most things set at high and I'm playing at 16 by 10 resolution. I'd guess my FPS is about 30 or so, dropping down to maybe 20. It's kinda hard to tell with this game, as frame rate doesn't really seem to have a huge impact. It was even just barely playable with some settings at very high at that resolution, dropping it down to 14 by 9 it was playable.
Awesome game.
Well, I have heard Crysis has some problems with SLI. Dunno much about that though.
But yeah, I'd imagine with Sli you should be able to get pretty high FPS at high settings at 14 by 9 resolution.
I ended up dropping a lot of the options down to medium, because as more shit started going on, my FPS dropped. Now I have most things on medium, a few at high.
Actually, I think it does work because I didnt have a problem until half way through the game.
I keep on forgetting that SLI doesnt give 100% more power, but I didnt have to change settings until the ice comes in.
How do you think Medium looks?
And, what do you think of the game?
Personally, I think people look down on this game because they think they cant play it but in reality, its better than COD4, and most shooters.
It's a good game. It's basically a reimagining of Far Cry, it's almost exactly the same.
Big difference of course is the suit which really adds a surprising amount of depth and variety to the game. It's fun having options as to how you want to engage a battle.
Medium looks great, I have Shaders and Post Processing on high, which add a big boost to the visuals, still remains nice and smooth, too.
Is the ice level really that taxing? What settings did you have to lower for that?
It's pretty cool actually.
The graphics are also amazing and its batshit insane with the explosions.
It's very different from most RTS and the story is really, really good.
Even though people love the MP, I wish there was an skirmish mode like all other RTS's.
Currently, you only control one part of the army like support, air, land, and infantry, and the maps are laid out like FPS with attacking and defending. I just wish you had control of all the army, two bases (so if you lose it, your done) and a map, and thats it.
Oh well, though, still a great game and one of the only games I've played where it was pretty different than its genre.
I just beat the game. Sad to see another unsatisfying cliffhanger in an otherwise very good game.
Wasn't a big fan of the alien portion of the game. Wasn't nearly as fun as fighting the Koreans. Sweet game, though. And yeah, that ice level is brutal, had to lower everything to medium, and even then it was just barely playable.
So SLI is working on my computer because it was pretty fluid on medium.
Yeah, the alien parts are not as good as the starting.
The Korean part is too good. My favourite part is right after the scientist dies and its dark outside and you have to get away really quickly. The foggy river and how you can see the battle in the distance was pretty damn good looking.
I kinda of want to play it again with very high settings in the near future to see it all its glory. Just seeing that massive bug thingy walking towards you in very high settings should be breathtaking. Same with the battle with it on the boat.
But yeah, the game could of been better. Crytek could learn a few things from Valve, but overall, one of my favorites this year.
