crysis: warhead came out 2 months ago and that's only an expansion pak that costs around 20 or 30 bucks and is twice as short as crysis.

That's what I meant by part two, sorry.

Technically, Warhead is considered part 2 because its the second part of the Crysis story.

"warhead" takes place at exact the same time crysis is happening. it just takes place on the other side of the island with a different squadron. same team though.

Does anyone know when the PS3 version will come out?

Console versions haven't been announced, and they don't sound likely. Neither of the consoles have the power to handle the game properly.

Okay,

It's still the second part of the Crysis story, no matter what time it occurs.

It's the parallel part, if one was to nitpick.

So last week my graphics card died out on me, so I had an excuse to go out and buy a new one. Got a Radeon 4890 and the first thing I decided to do was try Crysis once more to see how I could run it.

Pleased to say that I can run it now at very high settings and it looks amazing. About half way through the game right now, then I'll start up Warhead.

What did you original have?

Ill probably going to wait until I have a new system or new videocards to play it again. I want to play on Very High also. I remember it looking ****ing brilliant.

I had an 8800GT. Thing just crapped out mysteriously. Started freezing during games and then wouldn't boot up without artifacts everywhere.

Yeah it looks absolutely amazing. Still slows down in some areas but it's still playable, worth it for the visuals.

I haven't. That will be the test, though.

I did run one of the benchmarks that come with the game, the one that takes place in the ice level, and it ran just fine. But we'll see.

And about the cards, I started doing research when I started having problems with mine and apparently it's solely a problem with the GT. If you have the GTS you should be okay.

I'm not worried.

If one breaks, I still have another one. If both break, I get a new videocard. It sucks but not the end of the world.

What makes you think that it's solely a problem with GT? I had a GTS that would artifact and just screw around from time to time. Any video card can brick on you.

Any video card can break, of course.

But what I'm talking about is a specific hardware problem that is common - especially common - among the 8800GT.

What settings can i run crysis on with a 4870 and an AMD 2.4ghz quad core?

As Backfire, certain cards can have common problems amongst themselves. Does not mean that every card will but some do.

Similar to the red ring of death.

I just got to the ice level and it runs very well on very high and it looks absolutely amazing.
