I admitted to Captain America being fast. We were addressing his agility specifically.So because I believe Deadpool can beat Captain America, I know know nothing about him? I have reasons for believing Deadpool can beat Captain America but I won't derail the thread for it.

I know he said that. I also know Gambit's personality and how the writers want to portray him sometimes. I also have reasons for believing Gambit vs Deadpool is a 50/50 battle, but that is in another thread.
I'm going with Gambit. He has agilty that is at least on Captain America's level if you stretch the limits of Cap's agility, has fighting skills which won't allow him to be completely overwhelmed by Cap and most importantly is craftier than him. He's a thief and will not put himself in a position where Cap will beat him even if he has to resort to playing dirty, which Captain America will not do. Also Gambit has no problem going all out and killing Cap without hesitation if needed while Cap will be torn on whether to cross the line of killing for his survival which gives Gambit a huge advantage.

I notice most of the people pulling for Captain America don't really know the extent of Gambit's power. Also, someone below said Gambit beating Wolvie was a fluke, but it happened three times, Wolverine still hasn't beaten Gambit. I'm not a huge Gambit fan but he would own Captain America because his agility is too much for Cap to handle. Gambit has a good enough fighting ability to not be taken by Cap and has many more abilities like he would barage Cap with projectiles and even if Cap came in close, Gambit's agility would outdo him easily. Also, Gambit doesn't submit to defeat very easily. He's extremely clever. There's never been an instance where Gambit has clearly lost a battle without being prepared, he finds ways. That's why saying his win over Wolve was a fluke is specious reasoning because Gambit finds clever ways to outdo his opponent no matter what. Even when Gambit faced Hydro-Man in Unlimited X-Men, which his worst fear is drowning, Gambit still in the end found a way to own Hydro-Man. Gambit's abilities far exceed Caps, who only has fighting ability over Gambit, but by very little. Gambit's too clever, too powerful, too cunning, and doesn't submit to defeat ever. Still I think Spider-Man's the man but in this battle Gambit would undoubtedly and irrefutably be the winner.
Gambit would win 100 percent sure. In the x-mansion, Gambit has training to know how to dodge the defenses and has better skills anyway. Cap only has fighting ability on Gambit, but barely. Gambit's fighting ability is 5 out of 7 and Caps is 7 out of 7 but Gambits agility is way higher than Caps, meaning in close range fighting ability is irrelevant. Gambit also has the potential to charge something to the point of annihilating Cap for sure. You also have to remember Gambit is a master of dodging things (like Caps shield) like when Forge shot at Gambit in Uncanny X-Men 273, Gambit just deflected the bullets with his bo staff. He's also has impeccable targeting and can hit Cap now matter what Cap does. Cap would be murdered, slayed, and dead. Gambit would fight to the death and Cap would submit to defeat.
Cap is infinitely more combat savyfighter than Gambit, and is, along with Superman, the best "winner" in the comic universe. Gambit's exploding stuff wouldn't do much damage when Cap throws the shield in front of it, but it'll hurt Gambit when Cap punches him in the face. I like Gambit, but Cap would always find a way to beat him.
